Hi - I woke up this morning feeling really flu-ey, so after a quick browse on MSE I dosed myself up and went back to bed.
Got up an hour ago:eek:, starving and gasping for a cup of tea, fully recovered (I hope).
Fed and watered, I feel much better. Dishwasher on, laundry load in and on a timer for tomorrow morning.
Some paperwork to do, then either ironing or sewing.
I may do a meal plan for next week, too.Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

Hello All,
I'm another member of the procrastinator club, after spending all day at work having to get things done when I get home that all seems to go astray..... After reading this thread I felt inspired to take control a bit and change my bad habits. As today was my day off with full intentions I created this list,
1. Go food shopping
2. Cook some proper speedy lunches to freeze for work, instead of buying junk every day.
3. Hunt and destroy spiders.
4. Clean bathroom floor.
5. Take Nan out.
6. Walk dog.
7. Hang pictures.
8. Wiggle bedroom furniture around.
9. Catch up on Great British Sewing Be.
Achieved all but number 2 and 4, also killed 3 out of 4 8 legged beasts, 1 escaped the broom massacre, have found another 5 tonight!!! Starting to think there's a nest :hello:0 -
PS, hope you feel better summerlady:hello:0

Hiya wierddumpling - I know its spring when I start to get spiders in my bath again!!! Several per day in the summer !! I do dust and de cobweb i do - dont laugh - I even hoover the ceilings to ensure all cob webs are gone (No I dont hang upside down from the chandeliers but I have brush bit for my hoover and a long extender bit!! - do this every couple of months!) Still invaded by the blighters. I wont kill them tho as tey are v. good for eating nasties in the garden to whence I return them!
Summerlady - look after yourself and hope you are better soon - brandy helps - a good tot sends you to sleep!! (whole bottle not reccomended!) If the others cant sleep through the resultant snoring - tough - you need to get better. Must go to bed now - self discipline definitely on the slide as I love reading all the posts on this and 2 other threads!! Thank you all - I feel completely well this morning after a good long sleep.
Wierddumpling, I think you had a long list of major jobs to do - no wonder you couldn't finish.
I don't kill spiders either. At one time, I was terrified of all creepy crawlies, but I've become less worried over the years. I still won't touch one, but will do the glass and cardboard thing to put them outside.
I had a call from a friend yesterday. She has just finished retraining as a beautician and has offered to give me a facial. (I mentioned to her some time ago how poor my skin was looking and that I needed to rethink my products - I also need to use them consistently).Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

I have kindle unlimited so I 've been reading free books about dealing with laziness and procrastination and time management.
Many of them stress the benefit of building in routines and committing to them.
I now have an ideal morning routine:
Up at 7am
Exercise.
Breakfast and take medication.
Clean teeth and cleanse, tone and moisturise face, strip wash or quick shower, moisturise, dress, style hair, makeup, put on jewellery and perfume.
Put on laundry or dishwasher.
Deal with e-mails, correspondence, paperwork.
Of course I don't do all this yet, but I live in hope that I can build up to it.
Does anyone else have a routine - even one you hope to achieve and don't quite make yet?Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

I need to do some work on my business;
I have some work to do following a meeting;
Finish shopping list for Monday
Finish a needlework project
My facial (bliss)
A long walk
Tidy my house - I have too much stuff lying aroundGrocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

Good morning.
It's a beautiful morning, but I am feeling quite annoyed that I haven't made more progress.
I stayed up reading into the small hours then overslept, and when I finally got up I made myself a pot of tea and finished my book.
It wasn't even a good book, but I waste so much time reading bad books.
I need to stop reading in bed especially. I seem to be locked in to a vicious cycle of reading into the small hours then waking later than I want to, so that I don't achieve all I have planned for the day.
Unfortunately, I manage to get the least important tasks done as they take the least energy and determination, leaving me with a backlog of difficult, time-consuming jobs I have no enthusiasm for.
So - stage 1 - books out of bedroom. My bedroom will now be a book and kindle-free zone. If it feels too odd I will try some relaxation tapes or soothing music to get me off to sleep.
Anyone have any other tips?
On a positive note, I Kon-Marie'd my gym clothes, nightclothes and work clothes yesterday. I haven't decluttered any yet, because I am going to do that as I drop sizes.
It's feels really good to have all these little parcels in the drawers. Next stop - underwear and bedlinen (but not today as they are in the wash).
I didn't finish my needlework, or my paperwork, but I did have my facial and tidied the house. I also finished my shopping list.
Today I need to
make up some salads for the next couple of days
do 15 minutes of paperwork - babysteps
do some needlework - at least 15 minutes
shred some papers that I cleared yesterday
I have a client this afternoon so that will take three hours out of my day, with travel.
This evening I will watch TV and iron.Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200

Hiya Summerlady
I fell massively off bandwagon yesterday - so today is all about picking myself up and starting again. So washing is on line. Washing up done. Next shower. Then short shop for essentials. This might sound a little cruel but I am going to cancel the person I usually see on a Sunday as i need some healing time for myself today and have had to have a client today instead of yesterday. therefore, already I wont have the whole day to myself which is what I feel I need.
After client - meal plan around bought essentials (butter(I refuse to eat marg) and eggs, bread, oatcakes and salad) check if I need to pop to any other sort of shop this week (unlikely)
Usual daily routine: up in time to watch the Wright Stuff - clever conversation to wake my brain up!! Shower/ put on washing etc first. During WS breakfast then hair brush moisturise then yoga/ physio exercises. When it finishes an hour doing e-mails for business and any filing/ bill paying that has come through the door that morning. Lunch. Then clients and travel until about 7 or 8pm at night. Then maybe a social life LOL
PS am trying to watch weight as well - epic fail yesterday - so v slimming week this week - let me know how you get on :-)
Hope this helps!Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j

I too used to read in bed until all hours!
Now I listen to podcasts. You can browse the podcast list and choose those that interest you. I am asleep within half an hour all snuggled up and listening in!
Saves the elbow and shoulder cramp when reading a book either on kindle or in real life.
I cannot recommend podcasts and audiobooks highly enough when in the bed at night.
Good luck with your ventures. I too am a procrastinator. But that is not a sin either.0
