Any parts finder.co.uk
Has anyone had any dealings with this on line company?
http://any-parts-finder.co.uk/
I requested a part, but put the description in very vaguely. I was contacted very soon after (bear i mind, I have been looking for this part for ages and having no luck) with a really good price, however, they did not even know the exact part I wanted.
I clarified exactly what it was, and he said, that yes, that's what he had, I asked for his phone number and the companies whereabouts (as not listed at all on the site) he mailed back giving me an address in the Orkney Isles, and said he would phone me.
I gave him my number and he rang, (did not sound at all Scottish) and he wanted to take payment there and then by bank transfer or card.
I asked to pay by paypal (to give me internet purchase security) to which he said it wasn't set up yet. (even though it advertises on the website they accept paypal.
I am concerned this company, or one of the people using the site as an agent, is a bit dodgy, but am having no luck at all buying the part any where else and need it. Should I hand over the cash and just buy it??

funny enough - I had a similar experience with them this week. Like yourself I have been searching for a car part for some while and this company had what I needed for a reasonable price. I responded to their email that I wanted to go ahead and purchase, they rung and asked for my card details which I declined and requested that they email me the invoice online for me to complete purchase. 1 hour later emailed back to inform me that their card machine was broken and gave me their bank sort code/account number for bank transfer. The following day I emailed to say that I was having problems with my pin for bank transfer(to avoid that transaction) and asked if they could email me link to complete payment as their card machine was ok that morning - no response for a day. I emailed them the following day to request purchase through PayPal as was stated on website and still awaiting for reply - I smell something very fishy going on - I think now I will walk away and advise anyone else to - there's no contact numbers for them and the person certainly didn't sound very professional - very frustrating as really need the part!!0

It is not legal to run a website that does not have an address or a geographic telephone number. Anyone sending money by any means to a site like that is mad.0

Having read this thread and having spent the last couple of days trying to locate a new door for my focus, I came across any-parts-finder.co.uk and contacted them via their website.
They replied very quickly and said they had the item in stock and said "All our parts comes with free next day delivery, and 30 days warranty."
I replied back asking for a photo and wanting to know the condition of the door.
This is the reply I got....
The part is marked as 9 out of 10 from the warehouse.
We have your chassis number from the registration number given
Our system has matched it to fit your car exactly.
We are currently having problems with our card machine and are unable to process card payments. If you wish to purchase the car part you requested then please make payment by bank transfer.
Our Bank details are......[/B]
I replied back saying:
"I am just a bit concerned, as (a.) you have no phone number on your website to contact you on and (b.) you can provide no photo's.
9 out of 10 does not clarify anything, so it could have a scratch or dent on it? Is that right? What is the definition of 9 out of 10
What is your returns policy if there is a problem?
I would really like to proceed with the purchase but obviously am dubious without being able to see it or have any contact details for yourselves.
Also you are now asking me to make payment by bank transfer, which means I have no guarantee? According to your website you can accept payment by Paypal... can I pay by Paypal?"
As yet I have not had a response!!! And I will NOT be submitting any bank transfer to anyone.
I understand it is illegal for a website to advertise without an address or telephone number listed on their website, which I find even more dodgy0 -
Worst of all is the fact that this very thread will have boosted their SEO with the search engines, just by mentioning them.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Cannot believe i actually fell for this and payed by bank transfer the other day. After contacting them a few time the last being wednesday and being told that a new door was on its way to me i thought not a bad company at all untill still not recieved the door and just contacted them to be told this:
Good morning
We have had a tecnical issue with our computer systems.
Our stock system was not being updated in our central warehouse, and due to that we have sold you parts we have now realised are not in stock.
Your details have been passed onto our accounts team and you will be receiving a refund back to the bank account you have paid from.
We sincerely apologise the inconvenience this may have caused.
Regards
I just hope i get my money back, not good company at all.0 -
Snap I got caught too. Fortunately I only sent them £10 and when I got now response I found this forum so I have reported them for fraud. This morning I got the messahe about computer syste, stock etc and saying I would get a refund. Should I live so long. The moral is dont ever use bank transfers online unless you can validate the supplier..0

Not true all you need is a contact us section listed within a website to be able to trade, This can be by contact number or email form.0
