MummyR big hugs, I know from my Mum's health issues how draining and worrying this time is, we are always here for you and it has helped me enormously to know you are all thinking about not only Mum but me too.

Valli DS3 has SF a few years ago, nasty bug, he was quite ill for a good while. It was his hands hurting which was the worst part.

Off to wipe the descaller off in the shower room and then to wrap a present and on to the ironing.
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair
  • Hugs mummyroys, I hope it's nothing sinister, but best to get checked.
Will be thinking of you and your mum

Hope everyone is as well as can be

Need a moan but feel free to ignore I just got no where else I can do it ATM.

My mum just rang me to say she found a lump in her breast...

(((Hugs))) mummyroys. I hope it turns out to be nothing for your mum or anyone else to worry about. Don't be afraid to moan here whenever you need to. There's always somebody around, even at dead of night!

I have actually been flying this morning :D
    - stripped our bed
    - made DH's packed lunch
    - put gammon for tea in SC
    - took DH to [STRIKE]work[/STRIKE] play trains
    - WM bedding / lights / darks
    - emptied all bins
    - dusted and hoovered all downstairs
    - steam cleaned kitchen and DR floors
    - made up the spare bed
    - cleaned ensuite
    - swept front path
    - sat and talked for an hour or so over :coffee: with someone who uses our course resources and got some very good feedback :T

    Still to do:
    - WM towels
    - make up our bed
    - clean bathroom
    - lunch
    - pack my suitcase ready for a call to look after DGS3 whenever DGC6 decides to make his/her appearance ;)
    - take elderly neighbour to visit my friend
    - collect DH from work

I was going to do gardening today but the ground is still too wet - it can wait until tomorrow or Monday.
  • Hi all, been another mad week. Really busy at work, the ds loo is leaking, the boiler has died, both kids have had this flu bug, I have had a really sore eye .. you get the picture.

With grim determination I have tried to get the basics done every day. I have spent most of today doing washing, changing beds etc. At least that is nearly all up to date.

Going to light the fire in the room. I didnt realise how cold the house could get with no central heating. We have a woodburning stove and an open fire plus a couple of fan heaters so its not too bad but you do get used to being able to flick a switch and the radiators coming on!

Good evening everyone, I have been missing for a few weeks, as things have been very busy due to me starting my own business. The house is starting to look very neglected so I thought I was use this thread again to give me motivation.

Its funny really I have started a lifestyle management business but yet at the moment I am so unorganised and my house is a mess.

Rather than leaving it to next week to make a start I have decided to make a start this weekend. Each list has been shorted to what I will do this weekend and I have added my own jobs that need done in some areas.

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clear and wipe table
Wipe the work tops, remove all things which don't belong here
Clean the sink, drainer and taps

    Finish typing up business plan
Sort out a hotspot (pile at the side of the freezer)

Tuesday - Hall, Stairs, Landing and study/Family Room or similar
Clear the floors and hoover them
    15 minutes tidying this area
    Dust any fluffy surfaces
Clean the downstairs loo and basin
Give keyboard and mouse a good clean - photograph your keyboard on your phone, remove all the keys and wash in warm soappy water - when dry put back (glad you took that picture!)
Go on a cobweb hunt, is it dusty behind your desk

Sort out that pile of papers/magazines/catalogues and recylce what you can
Delete some emails, favourites, blurry photos you choose
Sort out a stationery or desk drawer - do you need all those rubber bands and envelopes

    Finish sorting out business financials

Wednesday - Bathroom and airing cupboard
    Clean toilet, sink, shower/bath
    Hoover and wash bathroom floor
    Clean mirrors
    Wipe any dusty surfaces/window ledges

Give the tiles a good wash and shine
Hoover out inside your airing cupboard and wipe anything that is dusty
Sort out the airing cupboard rehoming anything you had forgotten was in there
Another HH on paperwork, lots of people don't have council tax or water bills to pay this month (usually 10/12 payments). Can you save any of this extra cash, pay off a bill etc.

Thursday - Master Bedrooms - you choose which one
    Change the bedding
    Clear and clean the floor
Remove anything which belongs in another room
    HHI
Wipe the window ledges and clean a window or two
    Hoover your curtains and blinds
    Dust lightshades and bulbs
Sort tights, socks, and PJs rag-bagging any which have shrunk or are thread bear
Check for signs of moths and declutter any you find
Sort your stash of wrapping, presents, cards to remind you what you have got/need or do not need.

    Friday - Kids Bedrooms
    Change the bedding

    Hoover floors
    Empty all bins
Dust tv screens and anywhere you've missed

    Do weekly online shop

    Saturday - Weekend Jobs
    Sort diary for next week
    Do some course work
    Phone dm using free minutes
Book tickets for next Saturday night (me and dh are off to a paranormal evening)
Spend some time with the little ones
    Proofread the business plan
Check through Mr T delivery- scan and put away
    Proofread the business financials

    Sunday - Weekend Jobs
Do 2 hours at clients site
Make sure everything is in diary for next week
    Do some course work
    Print off paperwork for February
    Update accounts
    Submit shop and scan information
Get bags and clothes ready for Monday
Sort through mystery shopping accounts and look for work

I think that is everything that I need to achieve this weekend. Hope everyone has a good weekend x

Welcome back Kezlou (sorry I'm a bit late) and MMM.

Thanks Valli. Healing vibes for you.

Offload all you want MummyRoys. Pigpen's absolutely right - it's more than likely nothing to worry about, but (((hugs))) for you just the same.

We all get overwhelmed occasionally and if there's anything that got me through this week it was the really touching support I've received on here. It honestly helped me cope and I can't thank everyone enough. I forget, when I'm 'with dog' so to speak, just how big a part of my life each one is and losing her has knocked me for six. I went to the library to get things that make me laugh today, and getting out to feed the birds is doing more for me than I would have believed possible.

I don't need to fly, sadly, because there are no black dog hair dust bunnies around the place. If I hadn't spent a couple of days getting the place straight for R on Tuesday it would need work, but it just doesn't without Mrs Dog. I'd even washed all the bits of carpet that were a bit grubby in addition to the area that needed it after she puddled on the carpets last weekend. One more load of dog blankets needs to go through the WM but it's tipping down, so I can't do it. My concentration isn't up to paperwork - I called a beetroot a banana yesterday and left the keys in the front door again.
    Better is good enough.

    Evening all.

Welcome back MMM - possibly not the best advert for your new business, but your post did make me laugh.

HB - more hugs for you sweetie. I hope the collie rescue find you a new companion soon, as you have so much love to give.

Well everything planned today (which wasn't very much) is done and the dogs have been bathed much to their disgust. LittleyDog who is white doesn't like being clean.

Tomorrow I will have to have a re-org in the hall as we have a delivery coming on Monday which will need to live where the shoe storage currently is. This will force me to clean properly and sort out the cupboards of doom, so if you don't hear from me, that is where I will be.

Would also like to get in two dog walks, a gym session, hoover and mop through the house (I was frivolous and bought a new mop - and bucket) and possibly some ironing. And maybe some gardening, but I think I'm getting a bit too ambitious now.

    Have a great evening everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
