been a quiet week but I am waiting for Tuesday as that is payday whoop whoop....

no coins potted for a few days but that will change when I get paid...

Oh no!!! Sorry to hear you didn't get in after travelling all the way and queuing etc etc....you've been messed about a lot this week with the opticians as well!!:mad:

Good to hear that you were able to make the most of being on the south bank anyway....I would NOT have been impressed about that!!

SO today was the day that we all met up to swop and give our 60 presents to my dad (me and my two sisters) it was a great day he has no idea that we had gone to all the trouble to find 60 presents, he was very emotional and loved the fact we had all chosen items that were him...

tiring day as included a walk to the town for a lunch paid for by us, although it was a mission trying to get to the waiter first and him not to accept my dads credit card... I managed to sneak out to the toilet and pay :-)

we then walked home to toast the happy man with some champers, the nieces had a bath then it was fond farewell till the next family gathering. I don't see my sisters that often as they don't live local and both have quite demanding jobs one is a year 2 teacher and the other works for child protection services for her local council although she is due on maternity in two months....

so all in all its been a good day not a NSD but a good day, not potting of coins from me as I used my CC, not very MSE but I get cutback via my CC and my sisters have already paid me their share of the bill... so should get £30 cutback which will pay for my contribution :-)

Oh Westie that sounds absolutely brilliant - what sort of things were included in the 60 presents???

I can imagine he was very touched by the thoughtfulness that had gone into all of this!

So glad you had such a great day with the family - no worries about not being particularly MSE, it was a special occasion - and these sorts of things need celebrating in style!! xx

Hi Birdie,

The presents were things like beer, peanuts, coconut mushrooms, hip flask, little things that he enjoys, then we all wrapped them up in brown paper then when we got together will labelled the presents randomly 1- 60, then the nieces had to find the first 10, then it just became whatever was nearest to him... a great day, already planning to repeat for my mums 60th in January although she will be harder as I'm not sure she will appreciate peanuts....
