Hello you!!
It's like reading one of my more recent updates. You are doing all of the right things to keep those moods changing, and that is a GOOD thing right now. You don't really want to be stuck at one or the other end of that spectrum do you. Enjoy the cross trainer. Have you made it a little cave in the garage?
Sorry your weekend was another upsetting one. One of these days it will just be a lovely time all togetherI mean that.
Your hubbub of activity puts me to shame. I've barely done a thing in comparison.
As for the diet.. you do what is best for you. I pull no punches when I say this diet is one of the hardest and most helpful things I've ever done. Yesterday started with chocolate and cake and ended with a kebab. I don't regret it one bit because a few weeks of this diet can really burn you out. It isn't what you need right now. Healthy eating in whatever way you prefer, getting the right number of calories and nutrients, and making yourself feel in control without cranking the costs and the anxiety about what to eat and when.
Big big hugs. Lots and lots of love xxx

Thank you all you lovely people, you really are such a tower of strength to me at times. Thank you. xx
Yes Lilty, the cross-trainer has its cave! I went on it tonight for the first time, 25 minutes in and I realised what a stupid idea it was in this heat, but even just a short burst lifted my mood tenfold and spurred me on to make my evening more proactive... once I'd managed to draw a breath into my burning lungs, dragged my sorry &rse up the stairs and got up from sitting in the shower tray with the shower on full pelt. Lmao!!!
Man, I'm outta shape - but that's going to change!!!
Day two of the healthy eating (it's not a diet) has gone well and I'm fully within my calories, fat and exercise targets for today. I've packed a healthy breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, made Ds's packed lunch and have just been going through tonnes of Ds's baby photos on my computer and earmarked those I want to get printed and frame. Far too many of them have never made it to frames, so I need to do something about that.
I've also charged my fitbit as it has been flat for a few days now.
Guess what else I've done... Are you sitting down Lilty??? YNAB is setup, done, updated and everything budgeted for and the accounts have been reconciled successfully. I had a few false starts but am happy with how I've now set it up. Now people, give me a kick every now and then and remind me to update it as I go!
I also spoke to my lovely Mum earlier from her hospital bed. She has gained some feeling back in her side affected by this most recent stroke and is pushing herself through therapy already. She is marvellous, she so doesn't deserve all this pain and suffering which is constant for her.
I spoke to my Dad to check he was eating - the usual junk food unfortunatelybut at least he's eating something. He doesn't cook, at all. He microwaves lol.
Oh - nearly forgot - thanks to YNAB, I was able to budget an extra £65.70 as an extra payment to the loan, which has taken it down under £6k.
Anyway, off to bed for me now, sleep well all.

Hey sweetie!!!
Well done for exercising yesterday. You're much better than me, I was far too hot to do anything other than sit on the sofa and melt :rotfl:
Well done on setting up YNAB too!! I bet you feel much better now it's all done & you can just update it as and when
Lots of love to you, and your mum bless her xxxxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Have now caught up, and so sorry to hear about your mum - glad to hear she's regained some feeling back in her side though. She sounds a very resilient lady.
Sorry I can't help or advise regarding the working hours dilemma, but where I used to work a lot of people applied for flexible working, there seemed to be more on it than not on it! I used it to have a full day off in the week (Wednesdays) and worked longer on the other four. I needed this as I also did a lot of weekend shifts on a separate rota and could go as long as 21 days without a day off!!!£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

heyo,
so sorry to have heard about your mum - so unfair that she has so much suffering to contend with, and i am sorry also for the toll it takes on you emotionally, it is so difficult when a loved one is suffering and you feel pretty much helpless about it (and far away).
you have all of our love and support always, you know that but don't forget!, and we think the world of ya..! things will work out and improve as time moves along, in loads of ways.. don't doubt it and don't be hard on yourself.... great news about the healthy living and the cross trainer arriving (be careful in this heat tho!)... i will join you next week on the healthy eating, i fell off the wagon a bit but will get lots of healthy food when i shop this w/e xxxx x x x x x- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

Hello gorgeous!!
YAY for the cross trainer cave! I am supremely jealous. However I may have bought a vest top which says 'I'm all about them weights, 'bout them weights, no treadmill' so I should probably stick to that eh :rotfl:
I'm so sorry about your mum. Sending all of my healing powers her way. She sounds a super tough lady just like my momma.
I... I.. I.. I don't know what to say. YNAB. Are you feeling ok? First the lotus biscuits... now this... :rotfl: I'm REALLY proud of you and so pleased for you. You reaped the benefit of that £65.70 as soon as it was done. That is what it is all about. Making sure every penny has a job. You'll go great guns with it now. No fear of me letting you forget
Lots and lots of love superwoman. Hope your weekend is full of little bits of joy. You deserve it. xxx

Thanks for all your well wishes to Mummy MeandO
She's out of hospital now and receiving therapy. Unfortunately no real progress made on the condition that causes all of this and she is in extreme pain every day, but unfortunately there's nothing any of us can do to change it so I try to push it to the back of my mind in attempt to continue with normal life.
Please don't think me heartless, it's the only way to get through whilst living so far away and being pretty helpless to the situation.
As usual, the weekend contained its ups and downs, but many more ups than downs so I'll hail this one as a success.
Him really stepped up to dealing with his daughter's poor behaviour we've been putting up with past few weeks/months. He talked to her about lots of things, finally put some boundaries in place and reassured her about things she was obviously a bit frightened/unsure about and the result was a much happier little girl who was a joy to be around this weekend, who went to bed at a (fairly) decent time (for her;)), and was exceptionally well behaved.
He surprised me - I really didn't think he'd do it.
Yesterday he did have to work (from home) all day though, so whilst he was 'there' we didn't get to spend a lot of time together. We're going away the weekend after next though, just the two of us, so it will be a time for catching up, relaxing and probably talking a lot methinks.
I'm still struggling with the 'us' situation, but I think I need to work on my own feelings and how I deal with them to be honest.
Moneywise - a low spend weekend. Him took us and the kiddies out for food Saturday, I paid for a takeaway last night. (£12.50) A few groceries picked up on Saturday £20), but I think that's it. Oh - and £6.99 on an album from itunes.
Will update YNAB tonight. (Do I get a sticker Lilty???;):rotfl:).
My wonderful parents have insisted on giving me £150 towards the cost of the garden 'renovations' too, so that is currently sitting in the bank account. As it's all paid for already, I think I'll just spread it around the savings pots and top them up a bit for now - or should I throw it at the debt?
Will decide tonight.
Hoping to make another small overpayment to the debt this week, will see how it goes when I check in with YNAB though.
Am super tired after pretty much nil sleep Saturday night.
Better sleep last night but up at 2.45am to drop Him at the station, back to bed and sleep within the hour or so, but still tired. Tonight will consist of an Epsom salt bath once Ds is in bed (haven't got there yet Lilty!), and a chilled out early night for me.
Tomorrow I plan to hit the cross trainer again.
Much love all
