It's not stripey I'm afraid (they were good stripes, but not THAT good...) :) but it is snuggly-comfy. :D

Popped up to a 'home' type shop at lunchtime for a bit of a browse and to get out of the office for a while. Whilst there, I saw a wooden wall plaque type things which said:

"Don't spend your life with someone you can live with, spend it with someone you can't live without".

No, it's not something I'd want on my wall, but I found it quite befitting, and somewhat reassuring for me personally.

  • MeandO - That wall plaque is so true for me right now. I keep umming and aahing whether I should get back with ex, especially as we get on so well but its just because its comfortable and I was content. Not sure I've ever been out with anybody that I couldnt live without?! Quite sad really, dont know if its just because I'm fairly independant and quite happy in my own company or just because I've never really met the right person??

Well done on sofa gate. Funny when I moved out I ordred a DFS one, but it was a stupid sum of money on 0% (something I never do). Because they couldnt deliver for 10 weeks I picked one up for £100 from a childrens charity shop and everyone loved it as it fitted perfectly in my room and looked virtually brand new. So I cancelled as it was less than a week- what a nightmare that was too. Was so relieved when they finally backed down after my mum threatened ombudsman and lord knows what :D So just about everything in my place is 2nd hand from charity shop, other than my bed which was a super bargain!

Yes bubba bubs loves me again :T xx

    Hey Scuba x

Yes, I thought of you too Scuba, after what you'd told me about your situation. That plaque stopped me in my tracks when I read it and I just stood there staring at it - must've looked a right idiot. :o

I went through the 'shall I, shan't I' stage, and the Ex and I even talked it through, but we did both say that, regrettably, it wasn't the right thing for us to do. We would have been living together as house mates and that is where the problem lay in the first place. I know I couldn't be with him anymore, it would definitely not work. He irritates me and I find I can't spend a lot of time with him now we're not forced to. We've done the right thing for sure, as painful as it has been.

I've cancelled the 'new stupidly expensive' DFS sofas too. I hadn't signed any agreement, so I was ok, although apparently a 'manager' has to phone me to confirm cancellation. What a load of......

I managed to sell the other sofas (again) last night and they have left a deposit, so that is £500 towards the new ones. :)

I was feeling really down this morning for reasons that I don't really want to go into on here, but now that has been replaced with irritation.
Ex has p*ssed me right off. Found out he had let himself into my house with the key he has this morning when I wasn't there. He came up with some lame excuse which was absolute rubbish, so I don't know what he was doing there, he had no reason to be there.

    Not happy.

He fessed up, as he left something of O's there so it would've been obvious he'd been there. We've had words anyway...

Old sofas are being picked up tonight and will receive the rest of the money for them, so that's £500 wiped off the price of the new ones immediately. :j My new ones are arriving on the 23rd, so only a week or so of sitting on the floor, we can handle that. :) Then I need to figure out which bits I'm keeping and which I'm selling as it won't all fit in the lounge for sure. Cue much furniture moving (lilty)...

I took O out for dinner to Sainsbo's cafe last night as the kitchen is being tiled, so was in a bit of a mess. I picked up a few things whilst I was there, and bought O a toy for being good. We had a lovely evening, he ate all of his pasta bolognese and we shared a piece of chocolate cake, so a happy Mummy was I. :)

Have weighed myself this morning and have lost a staggering 7lbs this week!:D:j I've been really good, yet not going without treats, so am over the moon. Definitely spurs me on to keep it up. :)

    Hey you

Amazing news on 7lbs lost!! Well done you! No wonder you could feel it, that is half a stone gone!!

Bless O for being so good. Jelly is always amazing eating out and eats so much more than at home. I am tempted to walk into a Wetherspoons each evening and have a glass of coke then whip out her dinner from home and feed her in there... :rotfl:

Yay for much furniture moving. It does the soul good :D I am itching to move my sofa again just because I got down and saw tumbleweed and balls of fluff under there again! A week without sofas? I spent 3 months without them when I moved to my current flat :rotfl: - I set up beanie bag chairs in front of the tv and did everything in my bedroom... so not much different to when I have the sofa really ;)

As for ex.. wow. I've got a key to my old house and have often thought of going back and lifting some of the furniture etc. But in my defence, my ex left it standing empty for a year and a half without telling me, gave most of my furniture to my best friend and her husband and I only found out when I went to visit them and saw it all...! Not to mention the fact that I still own half of it! The day that it is sold I will be happily launching the key into the Channel!

Big hugs to you, skinny minnie ;) xxx

Ouch to finding your furniture in your friend's house Lilty... :eek:still, I guess you could look at it like you had a complete fresh start, furniture and all! Oh yes, sounds like you could do with that house being sold pronto. Is it on the market?

:rotfl:to the wetherspoons idea! I was fully geared up for O asking for chips as that is his usual 'I'm not eating anything else' plate, so was shocked when he went along with the pasta option...

Just to say - haven't forgotten about the Piggy bundle, I think I have more stuff in the garage, so am working my way through the 'stuff' to find the box I'm looking for before sending it off to you. :D

    xx

It is indeed on the market. He is in Southampton now so I am told, and moved in with his girlfriend a long while back and just left it stood empty except for all of my furniture. I agreed when I left that I would leave all of the furniture and stay on the mortgage for 2 years and he would pay me £9k of the £50k I put into it... - guess who still hasn't been paid the money and is still on the mortgage and house deeds 7 years later. He only emailed me to put it on the market in January. Hard to get is sorted as he is as far away as I am now!! It is a right tip as well so basically he will cover any shortfall and the fees and I will finally be off the mortgage with no debt, but also no money. I didn't mind my friend had the furniture. Rather her than me, my tv unit is much nicer ;)

Don't worry about the piggy. I keep forgetting to post a bundle I have to apple muncher!! Its not in my line of sight at home but will rectify it tonight!!

Bless O. Jelly hates anything potato... cannot get her to eat chips or anything! xx

Oh fingers crossed with the house sale then Lilty, sounds like a stressful situation. I'm sure it'll be a huge relief once that's gone.

Apple, build us a den will you?? I'd love a garden den this afternoon!
