Been up since 3am. God help the USA.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

I was so impressed with my students yesterday. They are great. People are so stereotypical about young people. They were really respectful during the remembrance day service and just a joy to teach. I love my job.
I went to a medical appointment yesterday after work. Travel cost £15.00. I spent £15 on bits and bobs such as sweeties for students and batteries for xmas lights which I will put up this weekend as I don't go out shopping v much.
It's chucking it down with rain outside. The trees look stunning. I do like autumn colours. We forget how beautiful everyday life is.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
It is a beautiful day outside and a day to remember all the heroes that gave their lives for England and Britain and for peace.
I was a bit ill but did housework and managed to dry some clothes outside and do work too. No money spent so far since Friday. Some medical appointments later in week. Boys are visiting next weekend. Christmas tree is up but naked as I haven't had energy to dress it. lol.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
All is well. I have spent £1.50 on drinks at work today. I spent £24.50 on supermarket food on Tuesday and £8.00 on taxi fares.
Less than two weeks till payday. Hurrah. I must remind myself to keep spending down as there isn't much in my Christmas fund.
Despite that I am ok.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have spent £12.50 on Christmas lights for my tree. It is an essential. You can't have Christmas without lights. So far I have one new set of lights on my tree and one old pair. My theme this year is going to be red decorations and golden white lights. The simplest theme but it looks fab.
It is chucking down with rain outside. The boys are at Susan's. I have marked a bit but not gone out due to never ending rain. There is supposed to be a heavy storm heading this way.
I am so tempted to order a Chinese but I am going to be good. I am going to be good. I am going to be good.
I have done a bit of marking so I am happy. Nuffink is on telly.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I made a stew to use up some nice veg and meat I had. It smells great and is stewing nicely. Christmas tree looks fab.
Today is much calmer now the storm has passed. Only 1.5 weeks till payday and four weeks till xmas hols. Hurrah. I am only going to buy food and major essentials. No eating out or anything as I want to have money left for fun at xmas.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Two amazing people I work with have handed their notice in. I feel quite upset that they are leaving. I hope I can hang in there.
9 days left till payday. This time next week I will be nearly well off. lol.
I might be going to Beaulieu Christmas Market with the gang on Saturday but I have no money to spend? plus I don't want to go if it's raining. I am still deciding. The newspapers and my email box are full of deals on Black Friday which is this Friday but I don't see anything I need or want. I must be getting old. lol.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Just popping by savingwannabe as I realised I haven't been to your blog recently! I'm sorry to hear about your colleagues resigning
I wish I could say that management will have to wake up to the on-going stress, but in reality they'll be complaining that no one is working hard enough.
Beaulieu Christmas Market sounds lovely, but might be difficult to resist buying once you see lots of lovely things. Perhaps you could work out a budget that's just enough for transport and a cup of tea or a sandwich, and then take that just in cash and leave the cards at home? Might be less tempted to spend money if you don't physically have it on you.0 -
Hello BB I hope you are well.
You are right I am not going to Beaulieu. I am v tired and will rest and work this weekend. I went for an appointment today and fainted after blood tests. I have cancelled night class for this week but will go to work as usual tomorrow. Arm and hands v bruised. Tree looks great spent the rest of the day asleep in bed upstairs in front of the tree.
One month till xmas and 8 days till payday ..... and counting.
From January I am only going to get ready for my wage cut and :- spend £259 a month on bills (till Brexit occurs and prices start rising)
- spend a maximum of £120 on food and try to buy fruit, veg and meat not rubbish
- save £250 in kitchen/emergency fund
- use £750 for mortgage
- I will put £50 into my Christmas fund- I kept spending this in 2016 and must stop borrowing from this fund
- I should have £210 for fun, travel and to make extra overpayments on the mortgage

Oh I'm sorry to hear about you fainting savingwannabe
I donated blood a few years ago and nearly fainted afterwards (they rushed me on to a bed before my legs quit on me) so it was horrible. A nice quiet weekend with your feet up and something good on TV will soon have you to rights.
Your savings resolutions sound really well planned. Don't forget to stop by the Old Style board, I find it really useful for tips on how to make the most of out of food, and how to save money with old fashioned cleaning tips.0
