Oooh steam weekend sounds great, hope it's as lovely as it sounds!0

I had a great weekend in York, I saw The Rocket. OMG. We read about it at school and I touched it. How cool is that??????
Staff in the museum were so nice.
There is quite a nasty story in today's newspapers (I use the term loosely) about a former actress who is homeless just before Christmas. When it happened to the parents of Jesus it was reviled. Two thousand years later it happens to some poor unfortunate young girl and they film every second of her wondering around Merseyside crying whilst on her phone. Schadenfreude at its worst. Why is our most popular press so nasty? Life is hard enough as it is.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Susan took me to the supermarket today and I did a food shop. Lots of healthy food and two bottles of mulled wine. :beer:Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Thank you BB, I hope you had a great Christmas as I did. My computer zonked out on Christmas Eve and I had to order a new monitor and it came today. It is v nice and big which helps me to see better.
I have been really good and haven't bought anything apart from two late Christmas presents (half price) in the sales.
:j Early resolutions :j
For the rest of the year I am not going to waste money on fleabay. I don't need any more clothes. I have so much.
I am going to save £25 in my Christmas Fund and only use this for Christmas and not spend it at all.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Right I have just been paid. Hurrah.
This month I am only going to buy essentials and use money for food and travel. That's it.
Also I am going to get fit as I look wobbly like Mr Jelly. :rotfl:
I have been given calendars for Christmas which means I don't have to buy any what a great start to the year.
Roll on 2017! :j
It is sooo foggy outside I am staying in today.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
The gang have gone to Beaulieu but I am staying in as I haven't been well and I want to be ok before work starts. I am going to tidy and also take down the Christmas tree. The room will look empty as it is a bit Camp! (with a capital C).
According to a search on Net Mums now is a good time to buy presents for next year. But I don't know if it is. I usually buy what people want and I hate guessing in case I get it wrong.- Next year I will have £300 for Christmas as I am saving £25 a month
I am not to raid this fund under ANY circumstances. AT ALL. - Next year I might go to the sales to have a look at what I am missing. For today though it is good to enjoy the peace and quiet.
- Next year I am not going to eat out (added 1/1/17)
- To finish what is in fridge before i shop again

I did some home cooking today. Some roast chicken which will last for a few meals and also some soup. Now when I am hungry and cold I shan't have to rely on calorific takeaways.
I find this hard to maintain though as I do get bored of my cooked food very quickly. However, I also find the takeaway food overpriced and pretty tasteless so I need to snap out of the fast food habit. My parents rarely eat out I need to adopt their ideas of saving money. The old ways are the best.
It has been rather chilly and rainy today but a NSD so I am glad.:j
I have a few things I can put on Fleabay but I am waiting for a good offer from them before I list.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Well the New Year has started. I have just started reading Vintage Historian's Thread and it looks so promising.
I am so chuffed with the whole Christmas experience. I cannot believe how simple the whole process was with the use of a Christmas Fund. I was able to buy nice things for myself (gorgeous handbag) and other people using my savings so I am not too short now. So far this month I have also saved £250 in my savings fund and £25 for next Christmas.
The weather is great outside and I am going to chill. Back to work tomorrow....... Then only 4 weeks and two days till the next payday.:rotfl:
I have just done some prep for next week well as much as I can do. It wasn't so bad. I just get a bit worked up about it. I am going on a diet I have decided but I have had loads of mini cheddars and also 4 segments of a chocolate orange. I am the worlds worst diabetic. But I am a happy one. lol.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I put £10 in a colleague's collection and then found out they had tried (but not succeeded) in causing trouble for me. My friends say I should take some money out. I am half tempted to. Blimey I have worked with them for years and would never have suspected them to be underhand. I am pretty disillusioned luckily they are leaving soon.
However, it was a funny day and it was great to see my colleagues and friends again. All the direct debits have gone out and I can see I have over a £150 spending money. Next month's credit card bill is a bit steep. That's because I spent on two unexpected things firstly, a monitor which cost a fair bit and I did overspend on meals for the gang whilst on hols (£130+£150). I am going to have to stop doing that as I can't afford to do it. We are going to have to take sarnies from now on.
Spending wise - I spent about 3 quid on drinks and a hot soup - only because work was so cold as the heating wasn't on. I will try to take a flask in tomorrow to save money.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
