Well it's Black Friday and I didn't buy anything. I just rushed back from work and it is the weekend. I am not planning on buying anything apart from food. We get paid on Tuesday at midnight which is great as I am broke.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Achtung. GB Energy my gas and electric supplier has gone bust. I have to do a meter reading and then a new supplier will take over. In the paper it said that I shouldn't worry as my supply is still guaranteed?????
I hope the new supplier isn't going to rip me off as GB's prices were really good. Oh carp, I want to switch to someone new now but I don't think I can as their staff wont be in? I will go and scout the threads as someone else is bound to be affected.
Thank goodness for MSE. There is a thread thing about this http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/energy/2016/11/gb-energy-goes-bust-160000-customers-affected-heres-what-you-need-to-know
I must take a meter reading and I will switch when someone contacts me to say I can. OOOOH Balls, my bills were so low with this company.
Yesterday I went to New Forest to visit the boys, with Susan and Crafty Hants. We had a ball. I am marking vvvv slowly today. Desperately boring but it's gotta be done. Payday on Tuesday I cannot wait for my credit card bill to go. Yay.
I was really bored and Googled all the people I didn't like at school and found out they were richer than me and looked really happy on the internet. Yikes.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Just had some amazing news, Cooperative Energy have sent me the nicest email. They are taking over the contract I had with GB Energy and are honouring the contract and the price that I originally signed up for. Thank you so much OFGEM. :j
I do feel so sorry for the staff at GB Energy as you were so nice and kind. I hope someone is able to look after them. Payday tonight which is good as I am poor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This month other than essential Christmas presents I will be cutting back. :j
Needs must and all that. :jAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
OMG, OMG I have £5550 I think in my kitchen fund which is now my savings fund. I am not allowed to touch it. I can live without a glossy white kitchen in this time of austerity after all it will probably last for another 5 years at least.
I might change the name of my thread to another name to mark this. No more kitchen fund. I am trying to think of another name. The 'Being Happy Savings Fund'? It is a happy fund as I am saving slowly (250 a month) and consistently causing little stress whilst it is gathering steam. Also having it will make my future secure and cheerier so it will result in happiness at the end.
Anyhooo, I am going to be living thriftily this month until the 16th when I go on a steam train holiday with my friends. It's quite a novel experience for me but new things make life fun. If I cut back now then I can enjoy Christmas. I can't wait.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Oh wow savingwannabe that's a great amount to get!
Just think of how much of a pain it would be to get the kitchen renovated. You wouldn't be able to use the cooker or oven while it was being done, everything would be covered in dust and paint, you'd have to empty out all the cupboards and store stuff all over the house, you wouldn't know where anything was, what a nuisance it would all be0 -
Bless you BB.
OMG I have seen a handbag. What do I do? It is so cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is red and gorgeous. Soooooooo gorgeous. I think I could afford it. But I cannot buy anything else naughty till 17th December.
Decisions, decisions.
I am having a BIG think. If I ring the boys and ask them they will go mad. It is identical to the Karen Millen expensive bag I sold for a bargain price. Why do I do this????? I WANT it.
I will be the best dressed OAP when I retire even if I am going to be poor.:rotfl:
Just bought it. Everyone of my friends say I can buy it for xmas. I have worked hard all day so I deserve it and £34 is a bargain it is worth hundreds and it is totally STUNNING and goes with new jackets. Yay.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Right, now I am going to think about Christmas:
I have £275 left to put towards Christmas (presents, food & travel). I owe £64 on my credit card bill in January.
Of that £200 will be spent on Christmas presents for family and friends. Leaving me with £75 for food & travel.
It's gonna be tight but I am not planning to buy anything else. :rotfl:Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have only spent £2 on snacks and £15 on medicine in the latter half of the week. My cute bag has arrived at the boys house and I will see it next Friday when we go on our train trip.
I have some work to prep and I'm going to have a lazy weekend. It is v cold and quite dark outside but only one week till the next holiday. Hurrah.
I am delighted that BB has bought house and will really miss her on this thread and will be watching her progress on the MFW board with happy wishes. Hurrah for BB.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have just spent £60 on presents for christmas using my £75 Mastercard credit (which I was given when I took out my insurance). I still have to get gifts for mum & dad, one niece, one friend. I must remember not to raid the Christmas fund at all next year so I don't panic in Christmas month.
I don't need anything for myself thank goodness. I think I have to unwatch everything on fleabay in case I click again by mistake.
I have had a gloriously lazy day. All I have done is sewed the hem on some really gorgeous jeans I bought in the summer which I was too fat for. They were really cheap as I got them on fleabay although dead expensive if bought them from a shop and look gorgeous as I lost some more weight. Yay I love value for money.:j

I have decided not to send any Christmas cards to work people this year. It is sad I know but I just want the next few days out of the way. Then I can have two glorious weeks of rest.
I have been ill and it will be good to recharge my batteries and have a bit of me time. Today I went to a medical appointment and then rested for the rest of the day. I am just so tired.
On Friday I go to London and then we go on a steam train weekend. Rather excited. I have bought all my presents. The last few people are getting cash!!!!
After this I have £50 cash till new year. Oh poop. Other than the boys I shan't be visiting friends as they don't drive and I will have to pay for taxis at double the price.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
