I have about £35 cash left till the end of the month. I will have my Christmas break from work in two weeks. In the meantime I plan to only spend £20 in total.
Then I have two whole weeks off to do marking and lesson planning albeit with tv on in background and tea at the ready.

Due to the amount in my Christmas fund I know that I will have a great Christmas as most treats (mulled wine, Christmas meal, all presents, some extra shopping) have been planned for! I think I have just one present left to get and I will do that when we break up in two weeks time.

I will be doing some overtime this week but wont see any money till the end of the year. I think I will earn about £40 in my summer fund!!!!

I have watched the flooding in the UK on the news and am counting my blessings. What dreadful weather and it is pure luck it hasn't happened in my area as we are near the sea. We have so much to be thankful for.

Only two weeks to go. Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!

I have given £2 to charity but otherwise it has been a NS week. One week and a half to go till the Christmas break.

Lots of redundancies being announced at work. We are all in shock at some of the choices made.

This is a new low; Now I am desperate enough to buy a lottery ticket and as a statistician I know the odds.

One week left and then it will be Christmas break. Although, in reality, I will be working most days doing my job (unpaid) at home. Still, at least I have a job in January- many people found out this week they will be unemployed next week.

It is extremely unsettling. This is how the miners and foundry workers felt in the early 1980s, it's just starting to affect the white collar workers now in my sector.

I have so much to be grateful for. I have found this website so can plan ahead a bit. I know about how to cut back and I will continue to do the best I can just buying basics. Many people are in a worse pickle than me. I do have a brain and will have to think smart for the next few years until the economy recovers.

Thank goodness for the weekend. I will see if I can find some nice tv to watch.

I had to spend £20 on a part for the shower. So I have twenty quid left till the end of next week.

I did an expensive food shop (including mulled wine and lots of sweets and snacks for work friends) and spent £38! Taxi fare was £8.

The boys came to visit and decluttered quite a lot of stuff out of the garage. Bless them. We had some mulled wine and watched films together. I have had a relaxing day and hope to get some work done tomorrow.

I feel so happy. The weather is cold and wet but inside is warm and the tree is sparkling. I am having some more mulled wine. Lovely.

It is dark outside. I have done most of my work a tiny bit left to do. No money spent today.

Only one week till Christmas hols. Hurrah.

Will finish off work and watch a nice Christmas film to chill.

I am just thinking aloud that I would like to buy a little more Christmas food over next weekend and two more presents. It would be nice to wonder around the shops for a day. I honestly don't know if I need anything though.

For the first time in ages I feel non stressed about presents and my credit card bill over Christmas it is such a good feeling. Thank you MSE and all of its kind posters who have shared their stories and made this possible for me. Yay.

My trendy light was being fitted in the hallway but builder has to add something which means it wont be done for a couple of days but it will look great when it is done.No money spent today or yesterday but I will have to pay for the fitting.

My lovely manager loses their job on Friday so this is not my favourite week. We are not sure who the new one is going to be. But I am counting down the seconds till the holiday which starts on Friday. A heatwave is being predicted which is good. Birds are tweeting in the garden, it's all a bit Rhubarb and Custard.

Two days to go then hols. Hurrah, Hurrah, Hurrah. I cannot wait. Brain is totally shutting down.

Other than a few donations to leaving collections I haven't spent money.

I am tidying up spare room as I will have a work colleague staying over on Friday as she is waiting for her new property to be made ready. She is v stressed and worried as her bed and breakfast has hired her room out earlier than she hoped. Poor thing.

I have had a good rest, been to a great church service and tidied the house. My 'guest' is still here and may stay for a bit longer than we thought as her bank is causing problems with the mortgage on her house. Yikes. I thought I was nuts but she is quite brusque and is quite melodramatic crying one minute and ok the next. I think she has aspergers. Remind me never to put myself out again like this.

Still other than food I haven't spent much money. Weather is dreadful and I will go out and try to do some shopping soon. I keep hearing we are having early sales but haven't had a chance to go out and see them yet.

I must also start some marking. Still all is well as I am on hols and have two weeks.
