Finally had my haircut yesterday. Hurrah.
I'm debating whether to go out and visit the shops. Everyone keeps telling me about the sales so I may go out for a mooch.
It has been raining slightly so I decided to stay in and do some more marking. I did do a fair bit and it is now in neat piles so I know what I have done and what still needs doing. I will hit the shops tomorrow which has been forecasted to be dry. I am not sure why I am going but I'm a sheep I suppose. It's the thing to do and it will give me some exercise as I cant see best friends as they are abroad on hols till Christmas Eve.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Well I went to the town centre yesterday and it was surprisingly quiet. It looked as busy as it would on a typical Saturday.
Queues in Debenhams, Clarks, Gap, TK Maxx, Monsoon were non existent but they did have some savings on while BHS was a bit busier as it had a v good sale on gifts.
Total spend including bus fare £72. This is amazing for me.

Bless you Mrs Upsidedown Bear. What a lovely post. I hope you are ready for a lovely Christmas too.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas too. I am so chilled and happy. Now, at the risk of sounding like Tiny Tim (I was him in the Christmas Carol at school), Merry Christmas everyone.

I'm ready for Christmas :snow_laug
Glad you are happy and chilled :xmassign: May 2016 be your best year yet xx0 -
OK so I had to do it. I went on the Boux Avenue website and bought four pairs of pjs to match the one's I had for my birthday. Matching sets are good. They are warm and soft and will last for years. Plus they were a bargain price.
And we wonder why I am not a millionaire.:rotfl:

There's 7 days in the week - what will you wear the other days? :think:0 -
I already have about 10 pairs of pyjamas but they are all satin except for this lot. ie. a bit cold for winter.
I am regretting it now as I would be more than £50 richer. Oh yikes. Why do I do this? Frugal Queen wouldn't, neither would any of the other blogs I follow.
Why do I have this compulsion to spend?
On the positive front I am not in debt. I have the money in my current account but it would have gone to the kitchen fund if I hadn't been so greedy.
If I still feel bad when they come I will send them back.
Mrs Upsidedown Bear how do you stop yourself doing things like this?Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
"how do you stop yourself doing things like this?"
I get a pen and paper and write down why I want to buy "x" now. What else could I do with the money? Am I feeling a bit blue and want to cheer myself up? Is my wanting to spend emotional?
It's not about justifying spending the money or dissuading yourself from spending - just making sure you do want to spend £x on x right now.
Just have a pause before you buy. Close the website, walk out of the shop. You can go back and buy later if you decide you want to.
You can always post on here and I'll tell you whether it's a good idea or not
Or we can ask my OH and he'll say "No" 'cos he's tight :money:0 -
Just popping by to say Merry Christmas savingwannabe! :xmastree: I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow!0
