I can't be so optimistic about the economy - we are buried in debt both personal and nationally, well not those of us who have broken the debt cycle and become debt free.
But don't listen to me, I listen to too much Steven Keen on youtube.Debt free 24/03/2015./ On Dave Ramsey's Baby Step 3./Full Emergency Fund 2500/6000./ Got mortgage on the 28/08/15./ 2015 MFW #117 1242.89/20000 -
OMG. OMG. I agree. I logged on and found some of his videos. I still reckon that by being moneysaving we will be a lot better off.
Today was a NSD which is great but I was sooo tired I just spent an hour in bed recovering. The weather was great though. Four paydays till end of year. 3 paydays till Christmas and I have put all my money in the kitchen fund so I have nothing in the Christmas fund. I will have to start saving for that now. I don't need anything but will need to buy gifts for mum, dad, nieces and two friends. I will need to save about £250 for this and I would like some nice food so maybe I should save £300.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Gosh you sound so sorted - I can't even think about Christmas yet! _pale_
I am going on holiday next month so need to have some spending monies.
Need to be very good this month .....and for the rest of the year!!
I think we are on the right path Savingwannabe! Paying of your mortgage fast is not considered a good idea because the bank is counting on us paying them all the interest for the full term of the loan. In fact paying it off fast is the best idea but just not for the finance system.
Getting rid and then so out of debt is always best in the long term. :jDebt free 24/03/2015./ On Dave Ramsey's Baby Step 3./Full Emergency Fund 2500/6000./ Got mortgage on the 28/08/15./ 2015 MFW #117 1242.89/20000 -

Work went well but i came home shattered. I haven't even prepared for tomorrow yet. Will do it early tomorrow as i am vvvv tired. I did spend just over a pound on a cake at work. I will be good tomorrow though as i want to lose weight and save money. Only two days till the weekend. Yay.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

OK I know I am quite poor this month but i have just bought an ebay gorgeous jumper at a good price. £24.99 and i charged it to my credit card which means I don't have to pay for it until November 1st. I know it isn't the sensible thing to do but it is so gorgeous and presentation is really important in my job.
I think i can afford this as long as i am careful for the rest of the month. I am going to be staying in for the rest of the month and not eating out at all. I wont buy anything else from fleabay either.:o
I know this is beyond sitting on the naughty step but it is something that should last for years and will be worn regularly. I think it is an investment I say trying to kid myself. Ok with hindsight that is a load of BS and i shouldn't have but i wont do it again this month. I am a bit of an idiot sometimes and now I realise I shouldn't have done it. I think having made the mistake has been good as I realise how stupid I have been. How the heck am I going to save when I keep buying stuff. I already have clothes. Plenty of decent ones so what if they are old they are hardly threadbare. I will never be financially comfortable if I don't stop and focus solely on my needs rather than my shortsighted wants. Stupid me.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Jumper came this morning. Gorgeous. I wont buy anything naughty for rest of the month.
I woke up this morning expecting loads of sun and fresh air but someone is lighting a fire so i have smog that smells of smoke!!!!!
Hoping to get quite a bit of work done and a bit of chilling. :jAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have discovered two ways to save money this weekend. Number one, buy tonic or carbonated water (which is cheap according to one of my friends) and add squash or vimto to it and you get cheap fizzy drinks.
Number two, take yoghurt (in my case, soya yoghurt) and freeze it and you get ice cream.
I have tried the first. Not bad and am going to try the second later in the week when my sugars drop.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Corbyn bashing is everywhere. I hope people remember that the Conservatives are using austerity measures to resolve the debt incurred by bankers and that immigration has been increasing with the conservatives as it is a way to keep wages down. Why aren't bankers being pilloried? Are the press scared of what Corbyn may do? The Labour Party cannot change their view on nuclear weapons despite his views on this. The rest of his policies will save the NHS and Education which are being destroyed by the Conservatives. I hope people read beyond the headlines.
