Biggest culprits - inconsiderate drivers?

Since I said I wasn't talking about "pulling out" on several occasions....WIW, I do have Cruise Control, and have had it on all my cars over about the past 15 years. I am more than happy when I find my lane "blocked", to ratchet down the CC until I match their speed. If, of course, their speed varies a lot, I'll (a) not use CC, and (b) seek to overtake them to get away from their annoying driving.I never mentioned slower drivers... not once.0

If you look at it statistically 90% of the BMW's out there on the roads are entry level/4 cylinder 318/320/118 etc. (or as you say the people who want the badge but cannot afford a proper BMW) hence the probability of coming across an inconsiderate BMW driver is likely to be one with an entry level/small engine'd BMW.
Maybe you're right. To be honest the last few M3's and 3 litre 3 series I've seen were actually going slower than traffic.
PS: which model BMW do you drive?
Verbal diarrhoea.0 -
I've noticed there is a sense of mutual respect amongst the higher end bigger engine BMW drivers. A BMW driver in a 335i /M3/545i wouldn't even bother looking at a 320d pulling up next to them at the traffic light. Conversely, you'll almost always find the BMW driver in the 'lesser poor mans' BMW peering over to the otherwise indifferent higher model BMW driver as if to try and gain the acceptance from them.
More verbal diarrhoea.
I think we have had enough now - don't you?0 -
My top 3
1) Mums on the school run (probably driving a beaten up vauxhall astra) - nutters, all of them. In fact I was knocked off my bike by one just last year.
2) Frustrated blokes who are forced to drive a rubbish French people carrier due to their circumstances. They seem to think driving these vehicles like a racing car will make up for the fact they are in a rubbish car.
3) Old people who drive along at 40 mph (probably in a Nissan micra) whether they are on the motorway or in a carpark at the supermarket.0 -

 I drive a French people carrier due to my family's circumstances.
It is a very good car for what it is needed for.
On the subject of BMWs, I saw an i3 parked at Ikea today. F*** Me! Who in their right mind would buy one of them?0 -
I saw one on Wednesday. Boy, that is one ugly car. It reminded me of Walter White's ugly-mobile from Breaking Bad.0

Then again who wants to drive around in just another generic euro box on wheels. At least BMW have gone and made something a bit unique. Each to their own I suppose.
Fair enough I suppose but it has no BMW visual characteristics, even the wheels look rubbish, and with a base price of £30,000 seems to be a bit,
"Well I drive a BMW so am successful and it is also an electric car so I'm doing my bit to save the planet, aren't I wonderful" :rotfl:0 -

Back on the topic - I'd like to add school-run mums in older Mercedes A-classes who drive looking over their shoulder to berate the kids 30% of the time. It's frightening when I'm behind them in moving traffic - I'm glad I'm not a cyclist.I need to think of something new here...0 -

Moms with kids in the car full stop, they think the kids are an excuse to do whatever they like. I got shouted at and called a "baby killer" for overtaking one that decided 30mph was quite fast enough on a 60 limit and swerved at me when I decided it wasn't, pushing me up onto a grass verge.
At a junction half mile down the road, no amount of talking could convince her, not me, my passenger OR the driver + passenger of the vehicle behind. SHE was RIGHT, because SHE had a child in the car.thescouselander wrote: »2) Frustrated blokes who are forced to drive a rubbish French people carrier due to their circumstances. Goes for any middle aged driver of any family orientated vehicle and they will do anything to scrape back what dignity they can.thescouselander wrote: »3) Old people who drive along at 40 mph (probably in a Nissan micra) whether they are on the motorway or in a carpark at the supermarket.
I used to think this, but take a look at the driver next time, you'll be surprised to see it's not just old people, i've seen 20-30 somethings doing the same.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
