In SE London, most of the bus drivers aren't too bad, if you let them pull out in front of you, they'll let you pass as soon as they can.

BMW and Audi drivers are equally inconsiderate. And none of them have any idea how to turn on their indicators

As a woman driver myself, I hate to say it but some women are the absolute worst drivers ever. I've seen young women in flashy Audis and BMWs who have increased their speed in order not to stop at a zebra, or other pedestrian crossing. And they will never, ever give way at a junction or let another driver out of a turning if they can possibly help it, they seem to think it's a sign of weakness or something.

I spend a good part of my working life at the wheel and I think my mum thinks I have Tourette's, I'm always shouting out rude words ("W***er" is a particular favourite) in the middle of our conversation when I'm driving! :rotfl:

could have wrote this post myself - i also dont find bus drivers too bad in sheffield. You get one or 2 who are bullies but the majority are fine - they thank you if you let them our or will wait if there are cars on both sides of the road.

Taxi drivers though? grrrr they have their own set of rules - they undertake, NEVER EVER indicate , drive down the middle the road (so they are the middle of 2 lanes), they pull out & dont even look that there maybe a car coming in that direction, they do u-turns in the middle of the road causing drivers to brake very sharply. Quite frankly 90% of sheffield taxi drivers should NOT be allowed on the road.

mine tend to be 4 letters:o

Drivers with private plates. Not all but way too many seem to think they paid for that plate and it gives them more rights over other road users.

Or the school run brigade. I was in a truck parked in the access road delivering to a shop. A large quantity of stuff that had to be offloaded by hand.
A guy parked behind me for a good few minutes, I said i will be quite a long time, maybe even an hour.

He said i will have to move soon because the school run is about to start?

With access in and out at both ends there was no issue with causing an obstruction. Unless your a lazy *** who didnt like walking an extra 40ft or driving around to the other side.

The actual school was on the side road at the one end and parents would park on the corners and block the gates and cause chaos anyway.

    they undertake,

If you are driving correctly no one should be able to undertake you, so stop hogging the outside lane. :)
ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.
  • Where I live theres a private school and most of the mums use acountry lane as a rat run, almost all use 4x4's and god help you if you don't get out of their way, their tyres might get muddy.

  • We are lucky in UK I'm in Thailand at present. There are swarms of mopeds who think that lanes, lights and indicators are for wimps, and you ave to watch all round as they overtake from all directions..So far the most I have seen on one bike is 4, 2adults sitting, one babe in mums arms and other helping dad to steer. I imagine, of they have one, that an mot would consist of, 4 wheels you've passed.

Years ago you could narrow it down to pushy and arrogant BMW drivers with the stereotype of indicators being an optional extra. These days BMW driver has erred towards leasing Audis.

The reason for so many bad and inconsiderate drivers these days is the unchecked growth of Chavism and (anti)social media.

Chavs used to be the underclass lurking around and below the working classes. Now Chavs exist in all social spectrums. You can have upper classes that behave like Chavs, you have plenty of middle classes that earn decent money and behave like Chavs, and the working classes still have Chavs.

Social media has given everyone a voice and made people think that they have to give an opinion and that they are important. I call it the "L'Oreal Generation" (because I'm worth it).

What does this have to do with driving standards? Because these people don't care about others and do what they want in life and this is reflected in their driving standards.

There's double standards and hypocrisy because the first people to complain about other drivers on the roads will often be the Chavs & L'Oreals.

I have the misfortune to live between two schools and my private road is used as the 4x4 and people carrier dumping ground every morning, it is absolute carnage. They block the road, junction, pavements and other parked cars, I can't wait for school holidays so we can have our road back. Fortunately I start very early so miss it most days but when I am home on a day off I am effectively trapped from 08:30-09:00 and 14-30-15:15.

I did vote taxi driver in the poll for their fantastic ability to pull a U or a three point turn on any road at any time with out indicating, and for the one who lives next door who goes to Thailand on holiday (single middle aged bloke- bit suspect) for three weeks and leaves his Mondeo estate abandoned taking up two valuable parking spaces. Rant over.

Royal Mail red van drivers. They refuse to walk more than 3 feet to a pillar box or delivery address, and park accordingly on junctions, pavements, or the wrong side (or all three). And all without any indication.
