I apologise but your whole story seems like a lie.
So says the person who also thinks that one of the following stories is also made up. (but he won't say which one).

It's too complicated to explain why only two are in my opinion genuine Islamic terroist attacks and this is a money saving site so I don't think this a the place to debate it.
It also has no relevance to a thread on coin star so I think it reflects badly on you as a person to try and hijack this thread for your own agenda. I think you'll find this is what Internet trolls do. From previous posts I don't think you are a troll so I am surprised you are engaging in troll like behaviour.0 -
I don't know where you live.
The hsbc, natwest and Barclays all have them within a ten minute walk of where I am now.
There's no banks/BS within a 10 minute walk of where I stay. RBS, Halifax/BofS, Clydesdale and Santander are 30 mins away and don't have them. I have never seen a coin machine in ANY bank/BS here0 -

It might not have anything to do with coinstar machines, but when you refer to other people's personal experiences as lies, I think that your posts on other threads are relevant if they show how your mind works in that you consider one of the three subjects mentioned to be "made up" (and that was the exact wording that you used).
You failed to respond on the other thread when asked which one was "made up", so I thought it was worth asking you here.0 -

Tends to be the bigger branches that have them.
Regional branches don't really have them but the ones in bigger cities tend to have them. They're very good as the money goes instantly into your bank accoun for no commission.
I am sure they will be rolled out to be the norm in most branches soon.0 -
...However the OP is basically an idiot for putting over £50 of change in a coinstqr machine and then basically walking out without cashing the voucher in.
I don't really understand why you wouldn't. And frankly not filling in the currency slip seems an odd excuse. You just buy euros from the asda counter. They've never asked me for a slip so I don't really understand why you would decide to go home instead of just buying the euros there and then!
Thanks! If you read MSE holiday money, you will know you get a slightly better rate if you order euros online rather than just turn up at the counter - the slip was the print out of my order from the online booking.
As for being an idiot for using the machine - my bank doesn't accept more than £10 of change in any one transaction - not uncommon these days. I don't have a large enough income (full time working single parent on less than average wage) to do big savings - 'penny savings' are a habit I've had for many years.
There are any number of reasons why someone might not cash immediately - not feeling well, in a rush and huge queue at customer service desk, kids playing up, urgent call from family, friend needing help...
Whatever idiocy you think I might be guilty of - it doesn't change the fact this seems a very unreasonable condition of use and if nothing else - at this this thread might alert others to the issue.0 -

You're right. My views on UK Islamic terroist attacks almost certainly mean that a MSE poster definitely did see a couple put £1200 in loose change in a coinstar machine.
I apologise for not instantly seeing the connection.0 -

Well I bank with one of those banks and I have never seen (or heard one, they make a hell of a noise) any kind of change machine? Do you have to ask to use one - if they have them then I'm a bit p'eed off they never told me about them when they turned me away from the counter and told me I couldn't cash in the bagged and counted cash!!0 -

Which bank is this? I accept you can't give bags of change over but many do have the equivalent constar machines in them which pay directly to your bank account for no fee.
I regularly pay £100+ a month in change into my local hsbc.
I still don't understand why you didn't cash in the £48 voucher. You were in the shop, less then 50 metres from the customer service desk. It seems foolhardy to
(A) not get the cash
(B) if you don't get the cash then not reading the £48 voucher in your hand which tells you the rules.0 -

we have one in both our Lloyds Bank and Barclays Bank. They are great, you just place your cashcard/debit card into the machine and add your coins/notes or cheque and you even get a printout of your cheque and these show instantly in your account. Great if their is a large queue for cashiers.
the only issue is that our Lloyds Bank had 3 ATMs in the branch, when they did the refurb they replaced one of the ATMs with this coin machine0
