I apologise but your whole story seems like a lie.
I don't know who would lose £200 quid on a coin star transaction when most major branches have the same machine with no penalties.
Why apologise for calling me a liar
I dont lie therefore hate being called one,
You have so p..... me off
It wasnt £200 it was just over £100
Not even sure what you mean by most major branches have the same machine with no penalties.
I started my comments by saying I couldnt understand why anyone would use them and I see hundreds of people using them, I feel like saying something each time.0 -

Sorry bank branches. I realise it wasn't clear.
It just sounds like a made up story. There are many stories like this which don't have a ring of truth to them. It just seems unrealistic to think a guy cashed in £1200 in loose change at his local asda.
I suspect this is something you were told and you are saying you witnessed it. When in reality the original story was exaggerated.0 -

!!!!!! you suspect all you like
I witnessed it, it wasnt a guy, it was a couple not that i should have to prove it
I was also standing next to the Asda staff member when she handed over the cash
Can anyone change that much coinage in any bank branch in one of their machines0 -

You might not believe it can happen, but just yesterday a friend of mine in Australia posted on Facebook a picture of his receipt from a coin change machine for a total of AUD 1440.85, made up of 3,011 coins.0 -

Yep you can change that amount in the bank. You'll be surprised to know that coin star are not the technology leaders in this field and the banks can also provide the same service as the local asda.....
You seem very angry. This is an Internet forum and when people post things like you have done and declared it "fact" then you have to accept that people will question it. When things sound unrealistic then people won't take it at face value.
I can't tell my mates a story like this based on the evidence of some random anonymous person on an Internet forum. They will rightly say this story sounds made up.0 -

I don't know where you live.
The hsbc, natwest and Barclays all have them within a ten minute walk of where I am now.0 -
If the person you're talking about is inserting fake coins, then someone else comes along and also inserts 100 x 2p and 100 x 1p coins, then you will be able to tell that the fake coins are between 101 and 200 coins from the top of the stack.
It just depends on whether the machine stacks the coins neatly in sequence. Maybe the coins are just dumped in a bin?0
