  • Hmmm. Might have spent a bit more than I wanted to on the trainers. I bought lovely insoles too, I have high arches so the support will hopefully stop me getting the blisters I've been getting as I up my mileage.
So this afternoon I'll be returning a top I bought last week for work, I can do without it, and hunting round to see if I can find things to fleabay.
First though, roast pork, all the trimmings, and veg from the garden. Best get peeling and chopping.. :D

Agreed, I don't think I've ever spent less than I wanted to on decent running kit but your feet and joints will always thank you for it.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

  • Thanks both.. I've signed up to do a half marathon (totally bonkers!) in September, so I guess I am serious. If you could see me though, I'm not built for running AT ALL  but I find the challenge of it really good for me. The 10k I did in May wasn't as hard as I thought, but then I am very slow. And I fully intend to be slow for the half :D

  • I did the 5K Pretty Muddy race at Worcester on Saturday. So much fun! Lots of people walked round, there are no clocks or timers and I'd urge everyone to have a go, it's brilliant. Having said that I did jog round. Felt really good! And I did just over 5 miles yesterday in the new trainers. Still got a couple of blisters so I don't think the lacing is quite right yet. Rest day - and a NSD - today.

I've been asked to look after another team while their manager is off on long term sick. This is of course as well as my existing role.. And for the love of my job of course.. All good experience naturally, but hopefully not for too long..

Money wise, all ticking over nicely. Payday has been and gone so all OPs have been made. You may remember that I was sceptical of receiving any money from DH's bonus.. Turns out I was right.. The bonus was less this year than previously so that means that there is apparently not enough to pay me for the windows. I can understand.. There are other things we have to pay off first - my parents gave us their car, and we need to give them some money for that, which will take care of most of it. But I'm still cross. I'm a horrible person.

Why are you a horrible person, you've made a significant purchase together yet you seem to be now left with it you'll get it paid off in no time tho but that's not the point xx

  • Thanks Abba.. I know that I'll pay it off in the end, and we're a team etc etc, and the car is a joint purchase too, so I do understand. Just a bit frustrating. I'm calmer about it today! It's been a spendy few days, so I need to rein it in. We went out for lunch on Sunday, which is a very rare occurrence, and I paid for that. Also paid my friend for a spa afternoon, on a voucher website deal. I had a deep tissue massage, which was really good in an 'OMFG that hurts' kind of way ;) and then I lay, spaced out, on a lounger for the rest of the afternoon sipping prosecco. It was fab :rotfl: I'm really bad at relaxing so it was good to have it forced upon me.
