Time to step up to the plate..

Thanks for reading Golightly, yes, that's how I'm feeling. I'm going to talk to him about how I feel in broad terms, and see if we can improve things. We've been married 18 years, I do need to try to see if we can make it work. But then I think, well, I've been trying for years! Every relationship has good spells and bad spells, and maybe I'm just in a dip. We'll see.LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Evening everyone.. Not too much MSE'ing to report. It's been payday, and I've made the usual OPs. I'd left myself a bit short this month and had to raid the EF, so this month I'm reigning myself in a bit so that I can rebuild the EF.
In other news.. I ran my first 10k today, in Oxford. It was hot! And my ankles hurt, but I finished it. Very slow really, but still very chuffed that I finished itLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

it's June! Time for the scores on the doors. Signature has been updated. Not too much movement this month, but it's still all going in the right direction, and next month CC4 will be no more :T :T The usual minimums have been paid while I'm concentrating on building up the EF again. We've decided to miss a festival we were planning on going to in August, I basically told DH that I couldn't afford it on top of camping. Him and DD are going to Portugal at the beginning of the school hols to visit family, I'll stay here to work and look after pets etc. Then in mid Aug we're all going camping with some friends of ours which will hopefully be fab. More than enough for my budget to cope with. It's been a tight couple of months, but having thought about it I'm really conscious that we have been super strict.. no family treat days etc. And I'm very aware that DD is only this little now, she won't want to be with us all the time like she does now. I need to make the most of it, and if that means that the debt hangs around for a little longer then so be it. Hope that makes sense.LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

hello :hello:
well I couldn't resist, and now CC4 is no more. Which in terms of my personal debt means I have one card - the big one - still left. Joint debt I still have the CC with the windows on, but I'm not counting that one just yet as it's at 0%, and in theory at least DH will be giving me some money for that next month. I'll change my sig. I am so proud of what I've achieved..just over £15K paid off, and just over £11700 to goLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Hello you. Sorry I haven't been around. I am back I promise. I figure what better day to begin than a new dawn for the UK.
I'm sorry your hubby hasn't had his LBM right now. And that things are not great. I think you're wise to keep thinking on it until your debt is gone, but if that was me I would let him know I was unhappy and essentially give him notice. It's funny how things like that actually sway men. They are oblivious unless you spell it right out.
As for my own, he only really realised what he wanted and what he was willing to do to keep it when what he wanted (me & our family) suddenly didn't care what he did any more after months of faffing. It's been 2 and a half years... 3 in September. And I still don't need him. He's alright to have around but my world isn't on fire. I guess people shouldn't live like that but isn't this what every relationship does? This cycle of love, hate disinterest, love... Lol.
Anyhow amazing news on the CC's. So impressed with you!! And I hope you're not the one forking out for DD & hubby to go away without you?
Big hugs xx

Lilty!! So lovely to hear from you
:hello:
No, I haven't paid for him to go away with DDhe's going for a week, leaving her there with my parents, and then I go out for a long w/e to collect and bring her back. I had hoped that DM would offer to bring her back to save me the money
(I know, bit cheeky !) but she didn't.
I think you're right about cycles, love, disinterest, etc.. I do need to put on big girl pants and tell him I'm not very happy though.
In other news.. I did my first parkrun today! And it was ace! Everyone is so friendly, and welcoming, and I'll definitely go back, but I can't for the next 2 weeks as I'm on a hen w/e next weekend in Cardiff  and the following week I'm already booked. But then I'll be going backLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

a new month, and some progress - albeit very slow. June was an expensive month, what with booking the flights and various other bit and bobs, including 3  school trips!! Hopefully this month will be a bit better.
I went on the hen weekend to Cardiff last weekend - it was SO good! It was absolutely heaving, and from so early too. It was all prepaid for, so I didn't spend very much on the night, and didn't have a hangover either. Feeling quite virtuous!LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Parkrun done again this morning, and a new personal best! Still quite slow in the great scheme of things though. Small steps as they say.
I've been doing my small daily payments to the card, but nothing major. Payday next week thank goodness! Plans for today include going to buy new trainers, and meal planning for the week.LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go
