So, DH and DD are currently on a plane on their way to see my parents.. I've been for a run, stripped the beds, done some washing, and have just sat down and done a very overdue finance review. Given that DH can't give me the money for the windows just yet I've worked out the impact that's going to have on my DFD.. it's going to be delayed 8 months
BUT it's still going to happen, and I know where I can make some savings to try and bring it forward. Last term I was giving DD lunch money every day - it all adds up, and I think next term she'll have to have a packed lunch at least some of the time. I've got various bits that I need to ebay too.
The run today went well, 5.75 miles. I need to find some new routes. Still getting blisters though
I've been asked to look after another team at work while their manager is off on long term sick - a related department but lots of new stuff to get to grips with, and the staff have been floundering a bit. Very good experience for me - even if no extra money in the short term, and I'm still doing my own job in parallel. It does mean I've had to revisit my office wardrobe, so I've ordered tons of stuff online, and now I have to send most of it back. Sizing is always an issue. I'm between sizes and it depends so much on the cut, or style, not just which shop. I've ordered some lovely tops, so thank goodness for black trousers!
Planning to potter a bit this evening before catching up with Outlander. Anyone else watching this? I adore the books, so was sceptical at first but I love it.LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

August already! Scores on the doors all updated, and sig duly changed. I'm going to put the sig in this post and then change it I think, it's a bit unwieldy.

So I'm currently at 58.6% of my personal debt paid off :j which I'm pleased about. Joint debt is going down slower as it's at 0% for now. Small steps and all that.
8 weeks til the half marathon  but it's all going smoothly at the moment. New shoes are quite comfy but I'm going to mess about how I tie the laces to see if that stops the blisters. No weight loss yet, which I'm grumpy about. Although to be fair, I'm not eating as well as I might, so time to rein that in I think!
Husband is back from visiting my parents, and has gone away with work as per usual. DD is still out there, and I'll go on Friday to pick her up. I've missed her so much! Last week there were tears from her every time we spoke on the phone, which was just heartbreaking. This week she's a bit better, and she sounded chirpy today, which was great to hear. She's counting down the days. Love her!LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

So I've got DD back! Missed her so much. And today we all go camping for a week or so in Wales. The forecast is actually ok
we're staying on a farm, with very few facilities, so its pretty cheap. Very MSE!
Moneywise, all looking good for the month. I've done the usual shuffles and OPs, and its all moving in the right direction, just slowly! The majority of my debt is at 0% now, which is a great feeling. For a long time I wasnt able to get those sort of offers, but I am now and that's going to help.
Right, I'd better get a move on. The trailer won't pack itself unfortunately..LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Hope you have a lovely time and glad you got DD back - won't be long till you want to send her back to your parents!
How's the training going? I'm 2.5 weeks away from a weekend where I'm doing a 1500m and 2 mile open water swim and have done virtually no swimming for ages! Also 6 weeks out from a tri so really really need to up my tempo. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Training is going ok, thanks, I'm packing training gear so hopefully will get to do a couple of longish runs while I'm away. How do you find training for the tri? I've always fancied having a go at one.. Maybe next years goal! I'm not a strong swimmer though, so I'd have to work hard at that - go you!!LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

The swim's my strong leg which is handy as it means I can concentrate on forgetting/being too lazy to train for the bike and run!
It's hard work, but I aim to swim twice a week once in the lake once at the pool - pool swims I call 'brick' training as I cycle there and back (6 mile round trip), beyond that I try to run a couple of times a week and do another longer bike ride - sometimes I cycle to work which is about 7miles each way and really rather hilly.
But on the whole I cycle once a week and forget to do the others......
I could train better!
The one thing I would say is give open water swimming a try, if its too overwhelming have a look for pool tri's, there are quite alot of them around these days. If you're determined to do an open water tri then somewhere with a sheltered lake is better (I like Eton Dorney for the swim as it's about as sheltered as possible being designed and built for rowers) and practise as much as you can until it feels reasonably comfortable. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

back from camping! We had a wonderful time.. 8 days of glorious sunshine and then gales last Friday night
we weren't due to come home until yesterday but decided that as the forecast for the rest of the weekend wasn't great we would come home early, so we packed up on Saturday. I'll try and post a couple of pictures. It does make you appreciate flushing loos, hot showers and walls that are quiet!
Spendwise it was a pretty MSE break; we didn't eat out too much, and all within budget. I've just done a quick review of where I am for the month, and it's looking good - once I've had the money for the holiday let this month there may even be room for an OP or twoLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go
