  • Well, some news. DH has a telephone interview on Monday, and 2 other job applications in. The settlement agreement is in the hands of the solicitor now, who seems to think there's a case for unfair dismissal. We don't want to go down that route I think, but it's still some consolation to know.
In MSE news.. Payday from my job has happened, just the minimums going out this month, until we get a clearer idea of what's happening. Anything else is going to the emergency fund. I've had a place on a Women in business networking course approved, so that's next month. Two days with the MD. Exciting times! Work is at a sort of crossroads for me at the moment, and I want to step up, so this is a good opportunity.

  • 6 weeks since my last post!!

Not too much has changed.. DH is still job hunting. I've made OPs this month, probably shouldn't have really, but done now. My total owed is now.. Drumroll please.. Less than 10K!!! So pleased :D

We've finally managed to agree with OH's family that we're only buying for the children for Christmas, thank goodness. It's been a long time coming. And the present shopping is mostly done. All within budget and saved for. I'm not sure what we're going to do if he doesn't get a job soon; his money should last 6 months or so but I can't afford to run the house just on my salary, so if he doesn't get anything by then we'll have to sell ..

For now though, I'm concentrating on the win that is getting my personal debt below £10k. Go me!! x

  • Hi Brizzle!! Thanks so much for popping by. And thank you Abba as always :)

Busy at work again today, I'm looking after the same team I looked after in the summer as their manager has now left the business.. So two hats, two full time jobs.. I'm not going to apply for that job, it wouldn't be a promotion and it's not really what I want to do, but I'll do it temporarily until they recruit. If they don't recruit by Jan I'll be having firm words with the line manager about an uplift in my salary.

I did a wonderful career development course last week; lots of really obvious stuff really, but good to have the opportunity to dedicate the time to thinking about it. So I'm putting those things into practise; easy wins like speaking up in meetings (not that I have trouble doing that!), revamping my LinkedIn, and my cv. We'll start on the harder stuff next week ;)

  • I've registered for Trailwalker 2017  !!!

    http://www.oxfam.org.uk/trailwalker

We did our first training walk yesterday, about 15km, which went well. And we registered early so got a hefty discount :MSE: :D

Still no news on DH's job.. He's thinking about doing consultancy now. And in other news, I think I'm almost ready for the big day. I've found an immaculate phone of the fruit variety on fleabay for DD, which she'll be so thrilled with. Just a few small bits to get. Still got my cards to write though !
