  • It's been a while again :o I haven't taken my eye off the ball though, payments are still being made, although not as rapidly as I would like.

This weekend I did Trailwalker - it's a 100km nonstop walk over the South Downs, in aid of the Ghurka Welfare Trust, and Oxfam. My team and I raised over £2400, and even though the weather was awful, we all completed it. I'm sore, and very tired, and have many blisters. But I am very proud. A year ago, even 6 months ago, I would not have believed I could do it, and now I know that I am capable of anything I set my mind to - and that includes getting rid of this debt

  • It's been a while since I posted.. things are ticking over. I'm mostly recovered from Trailwalker although I have lost a toenail with several more still to come off I think!! Now in a mad rush to get running back, with Bristol half marathon on 17th Sept. Cheap hotel booked and paid for. More payments have been made to the debt, all in the right direction.

We had a lovely camping holiday on the Gower a couple of weeks ago in our very ancient folding camper. It's lovely, but we decided it's time to upgrade, so I've raided the EF and we've bought an elderly caravan. We'll sell the folding camper and a few other bits and bobs and that will cover the cost. First trip away is this weekend! DD wanted to go and buy some throws and cushions so we toddled off to Dun3lm this afternoon. If anyone is interested in the folding camper PM me!! :D

In MSE news.. it's going in the right direction. DH's job has been made permanent, which is good news, although the money is still rubbish (bad!).. at least this way he gets paid holiday and sick leave, so I'm grateful for that. Payments have slowed down but they are still happening, at least.

    Thank you for reading x

  • Aaaand it's been another while since I posted on my own thread :o
Ticking over, although it'd be good to make a bit more headway. The caravan is a big hit, we've been away a few times in it, and we all love it. DH and I have agreed no big holiday abroad next year, but several short breaks in the 'van. I've got my big pig to empty and count today, and that money goes towards Christmas.

I didn't do the Bristol half in September in the end.. my knee has been giving me lots of grief, so I thought it best to have some rest. Trying to get back to bootcamp and running, but it's not right, so it may well be time for a GP visit :(

Work have realised they haven't been paying me all of my wages, so next payday I should have a lovely lump sum. I think most of it will go on debt repayment, and then I need a new winter coat, so that's it, gone in the blink of an eye!

I'll update the numbers, and then update my sig. Hope everyone is ok? I read a lot of diaries on here, even if I don't post much. Helps keep me on the straight and narrow ;)

  • Afternoon everyone :hello:
Grey and rainy here today, so it's an indoor job day. DH and DD are sorting out the office, which has been used as a general dumping ground for longer than I can remember. I've had a big sort out of clothes and shoes, and taken 8 (8!!!!!) black bags to the charity shop. There's about another 6 black bags of toys to go now that DD is too old for such fripperies :(
She's just found a calendar I did with photos of her when she was 3

Feels good to be having a sort out. DH is a bit of a hoarder so it's very good that DD is encouraging him. If I tried it'd be considered nagging!

Cooking two big curries this afternoon, one meat and one vegan. Off to our neighbours for dinner, and she's working today, so I said I'd cook. The vegan one I think needs tweaking, the garam masala is a bit strong.

Money wise, payday has happened. I've had some back pay, so £800 off the cards which I'm very happy about. Payments haven't been very much above minimum lately, so it's going to be good to see the balances come down. My EF is almost at £1000 too, which is very good, and the big pink pig turned out to have £420 in it!! So that's the Christmas food shop and some presents sorted :D. All in all I'm very pleased with Oct/Nov progress xx

  • Not in your league just yet Abba!! I've been doing some ebaying too, but I find it difficult to get to the post office in the week. Might try the shhhpock thing instead. I want my dining room back :rotfl:
    Plans for today include:
    Ironing
    Cooking roast pork
Sorting out next batch of things to sell
    Update sig
    Do financials
    Meal plan for week
Tidy dining room so we can eat lunch in it!
I'm sure there are other things, but that will do for now!! :)
