I reckon its the confidence you're now oozing (ooo, oozing doesn't sound good in this scenario, does it?!) through being so in control of your fabulous self. I hear tell it's quite the aphrodisiac.

So Sam - things have obviously been a fab for you if you're being chatted up by 9 people in a day! Is that genuinely rare or does that sort of thing happen to you a lot but you're so weighed down my money worries that you've never really registered it? I'm willing to bet it's the latter and that now you're in control of money and no longer need to worry about it, you'll notice lots of extra lovely things that you hadn't been able to absorb before! Yay to that for you!
I genuinely don't remember the last time I actually got chatted up! Although lots of people are lovely and friendly to me, so I guess that's enough for now!
Aloof? What's that? Don't you be hiding any part of your personality in here! All are welcome! x0 -
Aaleigha my weekend wasn't relaxing at all, but it was really enjoyable and the sea air helps to blow some brain cobwebs about. Then I have my segment tomorrow so am feeling very excited about that. I'll pop along to your diary shortly and see how you're doing. MTx0

Thank you Rosa. I'm so excited to start tomorrow evening, and a little bit nervous. I don't have to do much other than watch and pay attention so it should be a fairly comfortable introduction.

I think we all need to also bow to your acheivements this week Nora. You're definitely putting me to shame on all the things you've been up to!

Back at the hump already! I had a lovely weekend, and didn't take my laptop in the end, which was a good thing as I wouldn't have had much chance to do the work I wanted to.
It was a little break with my Mum and we travelled up to Blackpool first class on a Virgin Train as that part was free (compensation from a trip we took over Christmas 2013). The hotel I booked was along the sea front but nearly 2 miles from the station and I'm far too tight to pay cab fares when I have legs that work!!!! We should have jumped on a tram, but know that for the future now!
There's not much to buy there, fortunately, as the gift shops are mainly Kiss me Quick hats and seaside rock! I have a little obsession with tea towels (:o) and I did buy about 4 out there! A couple of fridge magnets and a cheap pair of earrings that look a lot like the expensive ones I saw last week, but these were £7.99.
I have to say, I was really pleasantly surprised. The North end seems a bit run down and sad (where the Tower is) but the South side has a nicer feel about it. It was just lovely being so close to the sea. We would go out for a little walk along the seafront before breakfast which is such a novelty for me. I love it!
We bought a 3 day tram pass for £10.50 and very much got our money's worth. Around 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, after we'd had enough of wandering around (we'd be out from 8am), we'd jump on the tram and do a full trip up and down so that I could watch the sunset on the water. I'll have to work out how to connect my instagram pictures on here. That was so much nicer than just heading into a cafe for a drink, or wandering back to the hotel.
Lovely weekend! I think I'd like to go back and see the illuminations this year now.0 -
So this week has been quite busy socially! I'm genuinely not used to being out so much as I'm a bit of a loner really!
Last night I met up with a friend who I used to work with years ago. We've not been out in over a year so it was lovely to see him. We went to a vegetarian restaurant near where I work and had a lovely time. He used to be quite controversial, just to be argumentative, but he seems to have really calmed that down now. As a bonus, the couple on the table next to us was one of my celebrity crushes (Tom Goodman-Hill). I handled the situation impeccably! I didn't even stare!
My friend and I had a proper catch up and he paid for us! To be honest, I don't think he's ever let me pay! It's usually because he'll order a lot of wine for himself but last night he ordered a few glasses for me to try as he thought I may like wine if it was properly chosen and good quality - I didn't! Then he walked me to the station and I had a really easy journey home.
Tonight I'm meeting a friend I went on holiday with. I haven't seen him in a few weeks so looking forward to catching up.
On Saturday I'm meeting a friend for the day in London. I've also just received a text from another friend inviting me to a concert on Saturday night as one of the people she booked up with has had to cancel. So the timing all works out well. However, I'm not sure I can maintain this level of social life to be honest!
I do love my own company and am feeling the need to be really frugal again which is difficult to do when out so much!
Work is better. The most stressful project isn't with me right now. The bits I've done are being checked by the sponsor so just waiting to hear back.
Oh dear! I do go on! Have a great day!

I had a great night out with Holiday Friend. I thought he was going to want to cancel from a few conversations we'd had before, or at least rush off, but he didn't. We sat and had a lovely few hours and dinner together. He's someone I'm always so comfortable with and mostly seems to just get who I really am.
Then on Thursday I did my first radio presenting training and loved it. I have no worries that I'll get it quickly and am hoping for some time in the "dead" studio next Thursday to practice by myself.
Then on Friday morning I just woke up feeling really low and haven't managed to drag myself back up again yet. I had a quiet day on Friday. I should have been sorting my house, but I didn't have the energy so I watched some shows I'd recorded and did some shopping. Yesterday I visited my friend but really just wanted to go home so after lunch I made my excuses and went (after spending money on things I don't need and didn't know existed until yesterday - £38!!!). I also cancelled the concert, but will be sending the ticket money to her on Tuesday when I get paid as I gave such small notice and there was no way she'd have been able to find a replacement.
I slept pretty well last night and am getting ready to get some food shopping now, but still feeling like I want to hibernate.
So that's enough negative for one day!I'll update again when I'm feeling a bit brighter! I hope the weekend is going well for everyone. MTx
