My mood has been a bit off all week, but I have now decided to ignore it and just plod on. I had a great training course on Tuesday in London (although did manage to give myself an under the nail papercut! Jeez I thought I'd been attacked!!!!) All healed now though!

On Wednesday I had a migraine hit, so that was me out for the day. I had to go into work on Thursday for an important meeting that ... had been cancelled! :) But, that was a good thing as I was obviously well enough to be in work and that meeting would have just hurt my head. Thursday night I went off to the hospital radio station and played around in the spare studio. My timings weren't too bad, but I did mess up the news segment - twice!!!! :D Fortunately no one can hear what I'm doing so there were no issues.

On Friday I went in and did a show with the woman who's teaching me. I actually spoke on air!!! As they don't have many female presenters I did get a lot of calls into the station from regulars asking about me and complimenting my voice and style so that made me feel really good as I know I'm doing ok. This Thursday I've got the spare studio again and I'm going to do a proper mock show with my own music and speaking to see how I go on with both timings and getting it all right. I'm feeling quite confident but oh my goodness, I can't think of much to play! My issue is being judged on my music so again, I have to push my ego aside and just get on with it. So that's what I'm working on now - putting a program together, but I needed a little rest from it. Any requests from anyone? ;)

I will catch up on lovely diaries this afternoon too. In the meantime I hope everyone is having a fantastic Easter weekend and eating way too much chocolate. If you've not been sick then you've not eaten enough. Keep going! :p

I'm just listening to Kashmir Aaleigha. What a great choice. Thank you. I recognise parts of it - obviously, but I don't know the full song. Released in 1975 so it can also go on my 70's list for when I get my own show. I want to do music from the 70's and 80's with lots of trips down memory lane of those times. Thank you. MTx

Feel free to make 70s and 80s suggestions if you want to. I noticed that Kashmir is a great go to if I need to suddenly run off. I have a few like that. I need to always be prepared.

I've created an hours show so far, and am way too slow. But there's no theme to this one as they want me to do a random music show on a sunday morning soon so I was preparing for that. The 70s and 80s will be once I've proved myself and an additional one.

I actually thought that in a hospital that Stairway to Heaven and My Way would be an absolute offense to play! But they're both highly requested when they wander the wards asking patients what they'd like to hear. I guess it's best to be over sensitive though on things like that.

I've not eaten today yet either and have no food in and my car isn't working! I can't do a takeaway tonight, can I????

I am not surprised they are well requested tracks BUT I would not play them either - as although well requested and loved they are more likely to upset the visitors :)

I will sit and make a play list or two tomorrow I will love that something to focus on that could help someone else - that will so help with the depression I can feel falling (was manic all last week I want a bit of normal please) will be good to have something to work towards :)
    thank you

Yes you can. I really wanted a takeaway but am actually eating a batch-cooked chilli from the freezer, so the MSE world balance would be kept... ;)

I had a lovely roast dinner DH and I spent time and cooked it together

right Dh and I have had a great evening thanks MT choosing singles to put on the lists
its so hard not to just put on your favourites so we sort of made it into a game I would say an artist and he would name a single then the other way around (I got Abba - not not not a fan) but w had fun
I am going to try to cut and paste it in here but I bet it all gets messed up from word - if it does I will try again in the morning but for now I am off to have a bath

Boooo to migraines, yay to radio station and if the need-less-hassle-to-get-through-today outweighs the spend then yes just get a takeaway. Just make sure you also get a couple of cheaper emergency freezer meals so you don't have to do it again soon. (I used to keep frozen pizzas before I had to go gluten free, now I have lovely fresh frozen curries.)

Can I request Dear Prudence please :) and I think Three Little Birds should go on the Marley shortlist too. And Changes and Kooks for Bowie!

Flicking through my phone for 80s stuff I can see a couple of one hit wonder single downloads - The One and Only (which after a debate with Total Music Snob friend we have agreed everyone loves really), and My Favourite Waste of Time - plus Wicked Game but that is probably a bit miserable for a hospital. If you haven't got A-ha yet then Take On Me... and most of the other things I was listening to in the 80s don't seem to have survived the test of time :rotfl:
