I couldn't just read on run on you Aaleigha. Thank you so much for those lists. I'm so moved that you have taken the time to do that.
Once I have my own show up and running, I shall dedicate at least one of my shows purely to your choices. Don't worry, I won't talk about you, but I will let you know when it will happen and I'll PM you a link in case you fancy listening in. I also won't play the YUCK song, as respect to your wishes.:D

I'm just playing the youtube tune as I'm writing this, thank you lovely Sam. Definitely one for the "play this" list. Loving the sound of this.
Was there chocolate in here at some point? Nora?0 -
So, what have I been up to? Regarding the radio, after I did the guest appearance on Good Friday I was asked to prepare a dummy show for the spare studio on the Thursday. That quickly changed to preparing for my first 2 hour solo show on Sunday! Panic and excitement!
I was standing in for someone and so I did a slight spin on their usual show and made it about food. I prepared breakfast, lunch, snacks, spices, dinner and drinks (2 hours is 6 x 20 minute segments). So for breakfast I had Breakfast in America (SuperTramp), Breakfast at Tiffanys (obviously) and Wild Honey (Beach Boys), Milk and Toast and Honey (Roxette). Lunch was some Meatloaf and Black Eyed Peas etc. So basically if the song or artist/group was a food and they went well together then it was in! I was SO pleased with this idea but in reality it wasn't great. While the songs went well, none of them particularly mean much to me, so I ended up spouting facts during the talking sections (Did you know that Snow Patrol were the last group to play on Top of the Pops - ever!!!!!!. It was like "learn with MT". However, it was my first show, I've learned from it and as the show went on I did sound less cardboard and more like a real person so there's progress there!
Financially I've absolutely lost the plot! I'm away this weekend and next and have somehow sorted it that I've paid it all! This weekend I know I'll get half back but next weekend I don't think I will. For very genuine reasons. It's with a really close friend and she will want to pay me back but her situation literally shot to the floor overnight and a) she no longer has spare income; and b) we're close friends and her life just tumbled, I think I can treat her to a night away from her troubles. So I'm not moaning about it, just that I've absolutely totally completely lost focus. So I'm going to need to sign up to "pay off half your debt without really noticing" course that I think MoneyOnMyMindSam needs to start upI'd be straight there!
Coincidentally I was sent a 0% transfer for 18 months from an old credit card that I don't use. However, I thought about it for 10 seconds and decided that it's better that I go through a little discomfort to teach me a little lesson and that discomfort will just go for 1 month and then I can draw a line under being so lax.
On a plus, I was sent a letter from the place I work asking that I never request overtime payment again. My job doesn't require overtime so that's not a big deal. To encourage me to agree they've offered me payment again for all overtime I've worked over the past 6 months, which coincidentally I've done a fair bit due to helping out another department. So that's due to be paid the end of June and should be around £1800.
On the not so plus, we're about to merge with another company and they're bringing over 8 staff to our 23. We don't need 8 staff. We don't need 5 staff. To cope with the extra numbers we'd need no more than 3, which probably means 2 in business terms! Watch this space I guess. I thought my job would be safe, and then I was introduced to a guy who does the same sort of thing I do, and more, and has so much enthusiasm and skill. So I have very mixed feelings about it all. But I can't change anything by worrying so I'll just sit and wait it out.
I have to go pack. I've not packed anything yet. I'm fed up with packing! I need a personal assistant!!!
I hope everyone is having a lovely week. I'm home Sunday and will be logging on.

I love the sound of your food show
and can quite see why you chose to do that - shame it was not as good as you thought it might be
but as you say you got better as the show went on and you have to take into account that it just HAPPENED you didnt really have as much time as you thought to prepare yourself
I do hope you are having a lovely weekend - dont worry about the spends and losing the plot it happens to all of us
I am unsure of what your actual debt is - but I am sure we will all willing help you with ideas if you need them (and even if you dont)

Thanks Aaleigha. The menu idea felt so right to start, but it was a good lesson and it does show that I put a lot of time and effort into it, so at least I didn't look lazy!
Also, another thank you for letting me off for losing the financial plot. My actual debt is very small but I have minimal savings too and that's the thing I need to fix - soon!0
