Today has been "one of those days" at work. Although I shouldn't complain because it was scheduled to be horrendous, so I got off lightly really.

I bought my holiday insurance today, single trip, for next week. It came to a whopping £3.54 including legal cover! I did cancel personal belongings cover and cancellation fees too! The possessions I take come to far less than the excess, and I know the people who run the hotel I'm staying at, so they'd just reschedule my booking. Gadgets need their own insurance now, so they'll be staying home.

I also transferred £250 from my Freedom Fund to the M&S current account in the hope that I'm in time to start my regular savings account. That's 6% interest, so the money is far better there. Sadly, it's a maximum of £250 each month. But coupled with my First Direct regular saver, also at 6% I'm doing ok.

Today was my day to provide breakfast for a few of us here, so that was £4.90 spent (although I get a coffee bought for me in return), and I met a friend at lunchtime who paid for our coffees so that was a freebie for me.

I forgot to eat though, so now I'm STARVING!

Just one more work day to get through! Happy Hump Day all!

I really should be doing other things rather than sitting on my computer as I'm up at 2:15am tomorrow!!! Although I did have to log on and send my shop & scan details!

I've almost packed and just have last little bits to sort out. I'm taking lots of magasines I've not had a chance to read yet, a how to book on radio presenting and a pad and pen. Also to pack are:

    • Toiletries - although also need them in the morning.
    • Jaffa cakes for the plane trip
    • Some £ change for a cup of tea on the plane
    • Euros
    • Passport
    • Boarding passes, parking and transfer details
    • Phone charger
    • DSLR and large lens

    Also to do this evening:
    • Re-do nails (yesterday's manicure chipped off when I was fitting a shed alarm)
    • Put duvet cover on bed
    • Set alarm for the morning
    • Washing up
    • Relax - get some sleep!!!

I received an email from First Direct this week stating that if I apply for a credit card from them by 15th May they'll give me £25. So, I applied. Now I've just remembered I've not finished the application as I can get that sent off before my holiday.

On Thursday I was at the radio again. I'm not sure if I mentioned before, but the week before I had my trainer sitting with me during the show to help me be less wooden. That seemed to go pretty well and we had a nice chat together on air. This week I managed to swing doing the show on my own and although I'm still not great, I was much more natural. So, based on a chat we had, I think we may be able to discuss me doing my own show when I'm next there. I'm also going to be shown how to connect my computer to the desk because I currently have to rely on others to find songs for me that I know I can get on my laptop.

Work wasn't great this week but it was very productive. I managed to do everything I needed to get done, and feeling more confident about new areas I've been given. Hopefully when I'm back after next week I can grow on that.

Well, I have too much to do to stay online. I hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend. We've had such lovely weather today .

Take care, and I'll update again when I'm home.

  • Evening My very favourite person ever ;)

I am back on the wagon....feeling a little guilty for neglecting my debts :o

How is the Radio Thing going ..let me know when you need a PA :D

Leaving some virtual chocolate for you......Rosa, Aaleigha or Nora will be straight in I reckon lol ... Did I just hear someone sniff and some knitting needles stop....:rotfl:

From Thursday this week going to make a more conscious effort with the whole debt busting thing again.

I've sold pretty much everything now  that I wanted to sell so need to knuckle down the finances but I may be really ruthless and have one last clear out.

    One for you :)

Ahhh Sam, I do love and look forward to your messages.

Thank you for the tune. I sat and listened to it while watching the video. xx

The virtual chocolate was still here. Rosa was too kind to take it and no one else has been around here recently. It's safely stored in my virtual cake-hole now!

The radio is going well I think, although I'm not sure if that's my improvement or the fact I remember the station manager's name and so he's very kind to me. But on Thursday I've been told we'll be discussing setting up my own shows so they must feel I'm doing ok. I so love it! I feel like one of those horrendous X-Factor rehearsals where they obviously love singing and performing but the X's come up within seconds and they're booed off the stage. :D

Being ruthless is so difficult so lots of admiration to you if you managed that. xx

I'm so far off the wagon I'm not sure I can even see the wagon tracks! :o I don't know what happened but suddenly I saw all these things I just needed and then ordered them!

So this weekend is my time to set lots of things up to get me accountable again.

The holiday was lovely. It's such a relaxing time and a lovely place. The weather was baking hot the first half and then cold and windy the second half! But either way didn't spoil anything. It was all inclusive so no worries about buying food, although we did have a bottle of water in a cafe by the beach every day.

On Sunday I really fancied a little Pina Colada (I know, I'm so 70's!!!) at a lovely restaurant/bar by the Marina. I sat down, ordered the drinks, turned to take a photo and then ...WHACK! The restaurant shade umbrella was blown over and landed on my head! Luckily they rushed over with a bag of ice preventing a big swollen head! I just have a beautiful welt mark along my hairline! A poor man's Harry Potter! :D They also didn't charge for the drinks, so every cloud .....

While away I did get a chance to clear my thoughts and decide on some plans and projects. So this weekend I'll be getting things set up on my home laptop, which includes YNAB, and will do my home studying and just generally getting my act together.

Work has been horrendous since being back, but it's temporary. While I was away I was volunteered for lots of things, which is fine, but they're all urgent and I have people contacting me as though I was meant to be getting everything prepared for them too, despite only being back a few hours! Fortunately I'm not shy so have been able to rearrange people's expectations. I'm happy to do more than my job, but I don't like people chasing me on things that they should be doing.

But it's meant that I'm having to stand in front a room full of people and train them on things I have no idea how to do! :D I've realised that my job involves a lot of that these days! I'm happy to figure things out, but it's so nerve wracking when you have people sitting in front of you that need to see you as someone who is professional and ..... able!!! :)

Right, now it's back to the skintstone and to focus! These lines have become far too blurred again!

Owch to your umbrella injury! And yay to YNAB. That's quite a list you have there... I hope you've thought of some rewards to go with it as you go through.
