    Quick update

Sunday and today iv been doing the attic sits all insulated now and stud walls are up just need to plasterboard it out now and plaster it

Iv done all the work myself last 2 days and am right into it not easy far from it but rewarding so im going to give the plastering a go myself it is only a office space

i had a qoute for someone to do what im doing and they priced it up at £500 not including materials iv spent £250 so far on wood and insulation so ill save at least 500-600 by finishing it off myself

No other news really just waiting to hear about my remortage they should text me this week to let me know a date

Just read through your diary, fantastic progress on the house. Love your positive attitude towards everything too. Carry on like this and you'll wave goodbye to that mortgage in no time.

Whereabouts in the UK are you - am coming to stay on next trip :D. All looks great :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Fab progress :)
We bought a lovely wood floor when we renovated here. heaped it up in a corner then rescued dog. Man came and said dog would wreck floor (v large dog) as we would always be re-finishing it to hide scratches. Sold floor. bought and laid tiles. sooo practical for us, just sweep up the mud and randomly slosh a bit of water around from time to time.
But do love the look of wood.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Excuse the really boring question, but did you insulate either between the eixsiting joists or under the wood floor boards themselves before laying them? Fancy a wood floor for downstairs in our new home, bedrooms to be carpeted.

Ya both the floor is reinforced so in beween the old joists and and the new reinforced support above them about 8 inches in total the stuff you can see in the picture is what i had left over which will go in the eves

im putting king span in the stud walls and on the rafters as well

iv started to plaster board it today which could take a day on my own
Total spend total £248 which will be enough to finish it all
