I doubt that will happen. For some technical reason they can't put you on the DD rate when they initially create the account but you will have the opportunity to set up a DD as soon as your account is set up. In other words before any bill is generated. I'm sure that if you set up a DD when asked the lower rate will apply from the start of your supply.
This is exactly what E.On Next have just done with their SOLRs.0 -
I've already been through one SoLR transfer to EDF this year, from GNE back in January. I'm not expecting it to be quick but I am expecting it to be painless.

is the same as our "welcome variable" .
Just the same high charge under a different name.
Not really very welcoming , is it?0 -

Has anyone managed to set their Direct Debit up with EDF? My account is showing the status of 'Woohoo – we're now powering your home! Welcome to EDF' but when I try to change payment method I get:Sorry, your payment method change has failedOops! Something's gone wrong0

Yep set up a monthly budget DD a few days ago with no issue...but that was after adding another meter reading. They calc'd the annual usage as being pretty much what I reckoned and set the DD at a monthly amount of £71 which again is what I would have expected0
