I doubt that will happen. For some technical reason they can't put you on the DD rate when they initially create the account but you will have the opportunity to set up a DD as soon as your account is set up. In other words before any bill is generated. I'm sure that if you set up a DD when asked the lower rate will apply from the start of your supply.

This is exactly what E.On Next have just done with their SOLRs.

I've already been through one SoLR transfer to EDF this year, from GNE back in January. I'm not expecting it to be quick but I am expecting it to be painless.

We are only talking about 11.7k customers which is considerably less than some of the MSE mass switches of old. Zog was an established and well run company so my hope is that the transfer will be a fairly swift process.

EDF's tariff is (will be) "Welcome Variable", which for me in Southern region is showing here as 4.169p/kWh and 26.12p/day, including VAT. Right in line with the Ofgem cap.
Where do you find the tariff rates, or do you have to enter your details and get a quote?
Using the link that he gave.
Yes, this link (cunningly hidden under the word "here"):
    https://my.edfenergy.com/gas-electricity/tariff-information-labels
I'm putting in my postcode selecting "welcome variable" but not getting any results under any selected payment method.
"No results found for this payment method"

It's a fiddly site which misbehaves if you restrict cookies or use an adblocker.  Try relaxing your settings or using other browsers.
It may be quicker to refer to this list: the prices seem to be the same.

Yeah, thanks, I did find that scorecard , I assume their standard deemed rate
is the same as our "welcome variable" .
Just the same high charge under a different name.
Not really very welcoming , is it?

It's at the current cap level - what more did you expect?

I was obviously being sarcastic. What more did you expect?
  • Has anyone managed to set their Direct Debit up with EDF? My account is showing the status of 'Woohoo – we're now powering your home! Welcome to EDF' but when I try to change payment method I get:

Sorry, your payment method change has failed

    Oops! Something's gone wrong

Yep set up a monthly budget DD a few days ago with no issue...but that was after adding another meter reading.  They calc'd the annual usage as being pretty much what I reckoned and set the DD at a monthly amount of £71 which again is what I would have expected
