Hopefully Zog keeps going at least through this winter (Though im fixed until April 2023, so hopefully the whole contract!)
Don't you jinx it, I'm with Zog for another 22 months yet :D
I've only got another 3 months - wish it was more - looks like early December may be crunch time!

    Indeed.

As I understand it, Zog were trying to do the right thing and hedging all their customers on fixed rate tariffs (the vast majority), but then the company they were hedging with have gone bust and will be taking all the hedges with them, claiming them to be an asset of their business and so liquidating them for the benefit of their own creditors.

I think that was all going to happen end of Nov/early Dec wasn't it?

I have achieved (if that's the right word) my full 12 month fix and am now resigned to the SVT until I move and go off the gas grid.

There's that and also they must have an increasing number of customers whose fixes have come to an end and are now on the loss making SVT. How long they can continue like this, who knows. (My fix with them expires Jan 31st.)

Similar length of fix for me.  It will be doubly annoying if they go under due to CNG failure if they had done the right thing and hedged, and now have had that whipped away from them through no fault of their own, as I moved from a fixed deal with SO (which would have taken me most of way through this winter) to go with Zog due to the 2 year fix at a slight premium.  Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Been with Zog for many years & always been happy - my fix is due to run out July 2022.  🤞🏻

Damn! it was good while it lasted...

Another energy supplier has collapsed amid an ongoing surge in gas prices, UK regulator Ofgem has said.
Zog Energy, which has about 11,700 domestic energy customers, ceased trading on Wednesday.
It marks the latest company to go bust under higher wholesale gas prices, which have made it difficult for companies to keep price promises.
Ofgem will appoint a new supplier for the firm's customers.
In the meantime, customers should wait until their new supplier has been appointed before looking to switch elsewhere, it said.
The energy watchdog added that taking a meter reading will also help smooth the process when Zog Energy's customers are contacted by their new supplier.

    Ah bums :(
I'll officially be on 2 new tariffs now, was with Symbio for electricity until they ceased not long ago (got moved to E-on next), and with Zog ceased I'll be on whoever I'm forced upon.
It's a real shame these small energy firms just can't stay afloat in these crazy times.

Such a shame to see zog go. I was with zog from the beginning until January 2021 when I moved my gas to green after a competitive offer arose. Always intended to go back to zog especially now I've been moved to shell. Sadly it wasn't to be. I shall continue to carry my zog energy tote bag to work with pride . Energy Switching is now over possibly for ever to all intents and purpose

So it appears we'll be moved to EDF from today. They were terrible last time I was with them around 10 years ago - let's hope they've improved.
