Well still early days of the winter but have yet to hear any obvious rumblings of discontent for Zog so far unless anyone can report otherwise as a customer, although things can of course deteriorate very quickly in the current climate.0

I'm taking the radio silence from Zog as hopefully a good sign that all is OK at the moment. However, seemingly they were one of the companies that were involved with / hedged through CNG who have given affected companies until 30 Nov to find new suppliers/hedges. So I guess that even if Zog did hedge sufficiently previously then they may no longer have that cover (and almost certainly wouldn't have been able to get similar priced new hedge) and so things may well change after end of November. Fingers crossed that's not the case as I'm on a great 24 month fix at around 3.1p / kWhPatr100 said:Well still early days of the winter but have yet to hear any obvious rumblings of discontent for Zog so far unless anyone can report otherwise as a customer, although things can of course deteriorate very quickly in the current climate.0 -
Imo (& been with them many years) Zog are 1 of the good guys so hopefully they will survive.0

Yeah as a pretty low user of gas, just to heat the water for one, I'm also on a 2 year fix paying about 3p/kWh -Shedman said:

such a low user that today's monthly bill is 88p actually of gas used while the rest (£7.75) is standing charge!
Also building up a credit for the winter if needed for heating - now at £40.

I hope they survive but as more customers come to the end of their fixes and go on to the default SVT, this will be forcing them to supply at a loss and there must be a limit as to how long a smaller supplier can survive in such circumstances.0

Just hoping that they will survive - currently enjoying ~ 2.6p/kwh - don't fancy a doubling or trebling of the price !0

I'm anticipating problems at the end of the month as Zog's wholesale provider CNG is withdrawing from the market and cancelling its contracts with retail suppliers.
From the Independent a few weeks ago:
Gas shipper CNG, which supplies gas to 18 utility companies, also said it would stop deliveries, prompting fears of a further wave of collapses. The founder of green energy firm Ecotricity said CNG’s exit could cause wider problems. Dale Vince tweeted: “And one gas shipper, that provides wholesale gas to 18 utility companies, about to exit – that could cause a domino effect.”CNG told companies it supplies they would need to buy gas from elsewhere. That is likely to mean a sharp rise in costs for retail suppliers and hundreds of small businesses.

A little more here:
“The target date for having all customers moved to a new shipping arrangement is no later than 30th November 2021.”

And from Sky News
CNG's supplier customers are understood to include Opal, Dyce, Xcel, Zog, Zebra, Entice, Maxen and Osso.
