    Morning all

(((Hugs))) Dusty - it's so hard balancing your husband's and children's needs with that of your mum. I do hope your sister realises how torn you are. Take care of yourself, please.
The same goes for you, mrs-mp. I know exactly what you mean about your m-i-l getting smaller: the same is happening to my friend. (((Hugs))) to both of you and love to your family x

Good luck JTTOU! I have decided that I definitely need to lose another 7 lb off my previous target weight, but I can't go to SW next week so have 2 weeks to try and lose most of it ;)

Lynnejk, there are a few recipes for Asian pears here

Valli, every February my mother used to make about 100 jars of marmalade from scratch (not from the prepared tinned oranges that I used to use!). She kept it on top of the old linen press, which I now use as my crafts cupboard. She ate one pot a week herself and gave most of the rest away - quite a lot of it to my family, where a jar never survived more than a weekend. When she died one May I found about 30 kg sugar stockpiled in the spare room wardrobe because she had not been well enough to make the marmalade that year (there were even still a couple of jars left). That's one of the precious few good memories that I have of her - thank you for reminding me :)

I finally flipped yesterday when I realised that I had muddled up some dates and put the wrong ones in my diary, resulting in an important email being totally nonsensical and requiring a grovelling apology (done) :(
Just remembered that I must check which date I used for a hall booking ...
I went to the dentist for a check-up yesterday afternoon and told her that I'd come for a few minutes of relaxation :p

My list of jobs is getting shorter, but it's the big things that are left on it. Won't manage to get much done today, once I've been to SW this morning and visited my friend this afternoon but I fully intend to clean the bathroom as per list.

    See you all later... x

Pigpen, how is your throat this morning? Are your brood enjoying a quiet week, or have you still got your voice?

  • Hope everyone's feeling a bit brighter today and feeling motivated for today. We're currently in semi-isolation as both me and DD have been exposed to chicken pox and as I'm surrounded by pregnant ladies (and am pregnant myself!) I'm trying to avoid spreading them. DD has been unimpressed by the lack of playgroup this morning and is currently destroying yesterday's hard work :o
