Im not here asking for your forgiveness or acceptance or even understanding, I genuinely could not care less about your opinions. I didnt ask for them, all I wanted was what I can expect through the post.

A lorry inches from my car at 60mph... I was slowing down, he wasnt. I only took my foot off the brakes when I could see him getting closer and closer to the point there was a grill in my back window.

It does not make sense to go to an outside lane if it was safe and possible to go to the inside lane.

You think I was in the wrong, I think a lorry speeding and tailgating was in the wrong. If I lose my license for going into an empty outside lane because he wouldnt overtake me (the only law he seemed to acknowledge) then so be it. We are all still here alive and kicking, and thats the main thing.

You were in the wrong . I am not here offering forgiveness ..I just hope I am not the guy in front of you that you shunt off the road and then tell me it was because of a vehicle behind you forcing your actions.

Unless you were pinned to his bumper ..Then you were driving your vehicle ..Learn to take responsibility.

is impossible. There are no lorries in the EU that are legally capable of 60mph.

Whats legal and whats possible are two different things

    Impossible?
You have checked EVERY single lorry in the EU to ensure they can not go above 60? Who even said the lorry was originally from Europe? I said it had foreign plates, it could be from anywhere - I have no idea.

So according to you a lorry going 60 (yes 60) in a 40 and tailgating is not in the wrong not at all? I think someone does need to read the highway code and its not me.

You have a bee in your bonnet for some reason. Im not saying im blameless for what may come through the post - hence why im not moaning about it.

I was put in a potentially dangerous situation because a lorry driver is in a rush either that or just wants to show how big his penis is because he has 10 tonnes at his foot.

Do you think I would go above the speed limit for the sake of it?

Your ridiculous. Sadly life is not black and white as nice as that would be.

So if a car had pulled in front of your vehicle and slowed to 40 ..I assume you are saying you would have carried on and run into the back of it as you couldn't slow down ?

I would imagine a lorry going 60 with me in front and a car in front of me going 40 is not going to end nicely for any of us.

If I think someone is tailgating me and I think he is too close, I will slow down and let the idiot pass me.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Exactly as suggested in the Highway Code and Roadcraft.

And clearly not move across to lane 2/3/4 to let the lorry pass on the wrong side, which is illegal and dangerous.

The OP seems to want us to condone his illegal driving because of his mitigation.

He wasnt going in to the third lane to overtake - already mentioned that.

Regardless, I didnt ask for you to condone anything im not bothered. I wanted to know what I can expect.

Benefit - im not exactly sure what your contribution to the thread was but I have the answers I want now so its sorted.

I don't mind idiots on the road as long as they are in front of me and not behind.
