Morgan Stanley CC 3% cashback NOT BEING HONOURED
Comments

I was told that the IT problem had been fixed in July and everything would be OK on the August bill. I didn't believe them.
I've also stopped using my card at the end of June. I've just checked online and my last statement is still the August one, showing just my last (as in final) payment.
I do so hope that this isn't causing them any problems in my case. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Woah, I should have checked this before, I've been blindly assuming that I received the 3% cashback in my first 3 months but it looks like not only did I not get it but it's around £2 short for the 1%, I've not even spent £1k on it let alone the £2k needed to drop to 0.5%.
Guess I better get on the phone to MS to sort it out and apply for a new card with someone else, I only took the MS Platinum card because Egg didn't want to give me a money card.0 -
Might be a bit too late to apply for the Morgan Stanley Platinum credit card
- this is mentioned on their site:We are no longer accepting new applications for Gold or Platinum Cards. If you would like to apply for the buy and fly!™ MasterCard, please click here.
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. You may wish to consider CapitalOne's new 4% cashback card though.0 -
Just spoken to Goldfish - they have admitted there was an IT fault that was 'rectified' on the 20-something of Sept and all October statements should now be correct...? I was informed of my new cashback total and luckily is was just over £60 so I'm having all of that and ditching the card.
So far all statements say 'no annual fee' so I'm not sure where that's coming from....? Thanks for the warning though - we keep eyes peeled before canceling the card.
Thanks to everyone for all the info - I am looking forward to a much needed £60!!0 -
Don't hold your breath. They've been saying that since July - just change the statement dates. I've just checked online and my cashback figure is still at the basic 1% figure.
I haven't had a September or October statement (they're dated the 7th or 8th), presumably as I stopped using the card at the end of June, so there are now no transactions.
Anyway, I've given up on MSG. They can try and explain it all to the Financial Ombudsman. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

Exactly. My cashback summary online is showing at 1% but my latest statement is showing as 3%. I wonder if they will try and honour the 3% level yet or if they will say to me again that "...[their] systems are only showing 1% so they will only pay out 1% now".
Soon my patience will run out as well. And I will end up cancelling without obtaining any cashback at all and probably going to the FO as well.0 -

The FO complaint form is a doddle to fill in, and the text boxes don't go all funny when you type in them either.
I've no intention of cancelling my account until I get my money though. At least with no "no transaction" statements being produced, there shouldn't be any "?" marks on my credit record. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

Stephen, would you be kind enough to post a link to their site please?
I'll only cancel with Morgan Stanley without getting my cashback if I am going to apply for the Capital One card. My theory is that because they have some quite strict lending criteria, I don't want to get rejected for that card because I have one open with MS. Apart from that, I intend to take MS to the cleaners as well!0 -

PS. I didn't get rejected for my current Capital One card and I still had my MS one open. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I've just checked my statement online and for this month they have applied a huge amount of cash back, almost £13 more than I've spent this month, bringing my total to £4 more than it should be for what I've spent in the last 6 months.
Looks like they finally fixed the problem, I'll stick with it just now unless someone can confirm that they are definitely applying that £20 annual fee to the Platinum card.0
