How much can I expect to pay for 4 new tyres?

Goes to show how talented the general level of staff are at Kwik Fit if they need a servicing "specialist". Surely any half decent mechanic can service a car.0

That's a bit unfair, would you let one of their tyre monkeys to service your car let alone one of their "service technicians"? The likelyhood is that they had too few services booked for that day to justify paying him a days wages so stood him down.
They won't employ "half decent mechanics" in many locations.
Why anyone would use Kwik Fit, Halfords etc etc service their cars is beyond me.0 -

Don't buy cheap tyres, false economy. I'd say about £200.
Also if you have tyres close to the legal limit, it's best to run them on the rear.0 -

If that was the criteria KF would never service anything0 -
While this topic is going anyone know if any firms are doing 2 for one offers i need four tyres 205/55 R16 91V
Or any offers going at the moment.
Don't bother with any doing 2 for 1, they will just bump up the prices to compensate. Far better to get 4 tyres at a fair price.
As per my previous post
This site will give you an idea of prices for tyres

One of the cheapest I've found and you can see difference between budget and branded ones. Might not be local to you but it gives a figure to be able to use for negotiation and to see if you're being ripped off.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
It's also well worth phoning round local independent tyre shops.
There's one near us who, when you allow for postage and fitting, consistently matches or beats most online prices and without the aggro - just phone to check what they've got, drive in and drive out again 20 mins later with new rubber.
He doesn't try to beat the special offers (usually restricted to certain brands / sizes anyway) but just concentrates on keeping his prices fair across the board.
Online is not always cheaper nowadays!0 -

Tyres on the rear don't work as hard unless it's rear wheel drive, you always want your best tyres on the front.0
