My brain would be picked if I continued to pander to this needless one up man-ship that you continue to so desperately needWith love, POSR0 -
I accept anyone present even if I don't contribute towards theirs. I don't see what the problem is, if you want to contribute do so, if you don't, don't.
You don't contribute in order to get a present back, and it would be really rude not to accept a present.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
Think its really more about the attiude and spirit in which its given0

Poster refuses to contribute to any work place collection so why should he accept any for him freely?
I know we are not all made of money, why would you think I am? I choose to contribute to any collecions as and when I can afford and dont just refuse to contribute to any out of hand as a matter of principal!jumpingjackd wrote: »Yes its not my place and I didnt actually accuse them of being mean and tight, where did you read that?? I said they should not accept any collection for them when they refuse to contribute to others. Hmmm opinions differ
Try taking a wee bit of time to read more closely to what has been said. And not going by what you perceive has been said to fit in with your conscience
On the off-chance that you're not doing this deliberately, jumpingjackd, you may wish to take your own advice and re-read your posts on this thread - from post 23 (where you quoted pickledonionspaceraider) onwards.
Other posters may not have quoted the exact words you have used, but they have made a fair summary of the way your posts have come across.
My own approach to office collections is that - when funds allow - I will contribute an amount I can afford to a collection for a person I actually know, or a cause that I actually believe in.
It may well be that I have contributed to collections for people who have never paid a penny to collections for other people. I couldn't care less.0 -
I think id draw the line at paying 40 quid for a 4 quid plate of mushrooms.
I think there are many reasons why some folks are tight with cash, most folk I know dont have much but would give you their last.
I have known a couple of folk who married into money, not really loving the person they were marrying.0 -
You are jumping to conclusions that I am not contributing to office whip arounds, but expect them to do it for me, which as above - is not the case.
Sorry if they have come across badly coolcait, they were not intended to.0 -
No problem.am out of this senseless arguement-. Deep pockets seem to prevail for a few people!0

Do you actuallay see any of my comments where I disagree with what you have written?? I will have a reread !0 -
There is only one poster on here who is not reading peoples posts correctly, and they are spending an awful amount of time trying to justify themselves, and convince themselves that they're right, and everyone else is wrong.
Nuff said.(•_•)

You have misunderstood me, I'm afraid.
I gave a statement of my personal approach to office collections. That's all it is.
It's not a comment on your approach to such collections, or anyone else's approach to them.
If you agree with my approach, that's fine. If you don't agree with my approach, that's fine too.0
