I haven't seen any mention of any emails involved in this. However...

Logging into TCB after applying for the Nationwide account, I get a message asking me to send them them my postcode in order to confirm the 'purchase'. Do I need to do this after my switch completes, or can I just go ahead and do it now?
Do it now. I had to do it for TCB, and have just taken out another N'wide account via Quidco, and they've sent an e-mail and an message on Quidco to ask me to submit my full name and postal code. Don't wait for anything as it will delay confirmation of the cashback. In fact, it then changed from "Verify Purchase" to "Tracked" immediately.

(Nationwide via Quidco, opened on 12th April, tracked today 13th for estimated payment on 20th July).

    Hi,

I have done 2 switch via TCB. IS there a requirement to pay in £800 in order for cashback to be validated. 2 Direct debits are showing on Nationwide account due to switch.

    Thanks

Does N/W know what it's doing?

I applied a while ago and got an email saying I had to take ID to a branch.
Yesterday, I got a letter saying they wanted my signature only - which I sent off.
Today I get a similar letter saying they want my signature and ID.

How complicated can it be to open an account for a person with whom they've had a relationship for 25 years ?

Just to update that despite these shenanigans N/W opened the account promptly on receiving my signature, only, in the post..So why confuse customers with all the differing stated requirements?

When did you apply and what date did your switch complete?

I have 2 TCB (mine and OH) application last month - switch completed last month aswel. TCB not showing as confirmed yet and according to Nationwide Refer a friend Terms and conditions I should get paid by 19th of the following month - so in this case by 19/05. No sign of it at the moment.

Application was 30/3. Switch about 10 to 14 days later. Confirmed a couple of weeks ago incentive letters received today.

The existing account is flexplus and the new one is flex. I'm not sure if it would work to open a new account of a type you already have but there are 3 choices anyway flex plus and direct
