About to do this for me and oh (me refer her and her me from our joint flexplus) but the donor accounts are tsb classic for which neither me or oh received a debit card (presumably because it doesn't come with a debit card). In anyone's experience does lack of a debit card number pose a problem with nationwide switches like it seems to with Yorkshire bank / clydesdale.

This is the bit of the email regarding ID checking I received from Nationwide yesterday after the registration of a FlexDirect:

Re the ID my sister applied in January for a Nationwide flex direct - with my encouragement for her to get the good interest rate.

I checked with her and she got an email asking her to go to a branch requesting ID - and then three days later got another telling her the account was open and she would get her card/PIN/online banking details in a few days. She has never had an account with them before.

She also got offered one of their 15 month interest free credit card - and they did write and ask for ID for that. However if you didn't want to go to a branch you could do this by post using a bank or benefits statement or proof of address.

She sent the ID by post - and all was sorted - she never had to go to a branch to sort out the account opening.

So I think the ID initial email is a generic one - and may not apply on further checks. or if you may be able to do it by post.

Yes it definitely is a generic email as I too received an email from Nationwide confirming that my account had been opened this morning, even though I had received an email on Saturday requesting me to go into branch. I am just waiting for Coop to pay me my incentive (it should be 45 days on Friday tsk tsk tsk) so I can switch it out for a combined RAF and QC Nationwide cash back. Always preferred Nationwide to Coop anyway :)

Same here, applied yesterday and got that email about needing ID and going to branch but just now received another email saying the account is accepted and up and running - just waiting for card and pin.

I was paid £50 for the RAF today so we will see in a few months whether the cashback turns up.

TCB is now showing as confirmed, so looking promising...

    Yes – I saw that.

Does that mean it ends tomorrow or 1 April?

No evidence the quidco version is ending – but I find TCB better overall.

No idea..that's why I quoted what they said on the site!

Tomorrow's description on the site should be clearer, I think

    I'll apply tomorrow anyway

It says now that the offer ends "Ends Tomorrow"

I did apply today, and was a bit surprised to be accepted (after all my recent bank account and credit card applying, ruining my "credit score" with Experian - just searches and stoozing, though, and never any late or missed payments ever)

Bit confused, though, as after the application process I got a screen saying they'll send a letter asking me to sign some documents, and then I got an email saying I'll need to take some ID into a branch....

O... I see this has happened to others and will just wait for the paperwork to arrive

Can you apply to this while the cashback is available and then switch at a later date, like the M&S offer?

I want to apply now before the cashback runs out but my other account is being set up, does anyone know if Nationwide give you the option of switching at a later date or does it have to be immediate?
