I know you're all desperate to know that the maiden voyage of the shopping trolley went very well, and although it was trying to trip me up, especially when I was passing groups of teenagers, I soon saw through its dirty trick and got it back under control.
It was so successful that I felt I had to eat the newly purchased mozzarella which was supposed to be for Sunday's HM pizza. Oh well, at least I've resisted the sugar so far - and it's 11.13! Only 12 hours till bedtime and then I've achieved Day 1...0 -
Morning all
Cat - Congratulations on your wins :j
JackieO - Glad the bone scan was all clear - we call them Cheesybugs too - must be a Kent thing.
Jockette - I'm so pleased for you - does your OH have any kids of his own?
Hi to all the newbies too - you'll like it here.
Had a strange few days that have included mice (alive and dead), spiders (all dead now), flying ants (evil things), DD2 (her with the broken arm) been blood tested and swabbed - testing for glandular fever as she's been really poorly yet again - I think we've had 10 good days out of the last 6 weeks - finally someone took me seriously and got her blood tests sorted - should hear by the end of the week.
Went to the beach for a bit yesterday but the wind was chilly so didn't stop for long - going again Friday as it's supposed to be lovely down here. Off to the cinema this afternoon - DD's are going to see Simpsons with some friends - us sensible mums are going to go sit and drink coffee and eat cake and leave them to it.
Got a new dishwasher arriving tonight - not had one for nearly 2 years now but made a nice amount on ebay last week so decided that enough was enough and ordered it via quidco last night - DH is picking it up on his way home :j
Been very OS with food this week/weekend, all the leftovers have been used and DH surprised me last night by using the last of the quiche mix to make a bacon omlette style thing that he's taking to work today for lunch.
Got in-laws here for the weekend so need to spend tomorrow airing spare bedding and cooking up some nice nibbles for tea on Saturday - they're treating us to lunch on out on Sunday:T
Landlord's just been in touch to ask for a meeting tomorow evening - I'm guessing he's going to put the rent up - not had an increase for the 5 years we've been here so it's to be expected, will muck up my budget though - never mind - I'm sure we'll cope.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Dia Dhibh!
Welcome Scuba, addiction is fine!
Jockett...congratulations on your holiday souvenir! Take care of you and the name mind bending exercise.
JackieO....great to hear that the problem is confined, roll on next week to be rid of the problem...lucky you to be coming home to a nice new conservatory.
Queenie...where are you? Hope that you are ok.
Rachelle...will you slow down please, I'm exhausted.
Hugs to all in need or want.
Very little done here to-day...3 grandchildren are enough for me, each winds the other up and we have a shouting match between them all...dgss find dgd too much a lot of the time, she is only two and a half which makes her inferior in their minds...and she's a GIRL for heaven's sake!
DD2 seems ok this morning, she slept late and went back to bed and slept again...I would like to encourage her to take it easy...but what would I know?!
Not raining here but wouldn't take any bets on a third fine day in a row. Must hang out clothes and get sorted into doing something else useful with my day. Enjoy your day, whatever the weather

*waving madly* Hello OSers
Not got time to read so a quick howdy doody to you all, hugs and all that for whatever reason
Just popped in to say I just had to buy a butty for my lunch!!!! And I had a little wobble about it LOL. I'm so used to bringing lunch with me or popping home but I was late up this morning and can't go home at lunch because we're busy and so I had to buy my lunch. 2 quid!!!!! LOL - makes me chuckle now how I notice something that would have been an unconcious act 12 months ago.
AND I had to pay for yet another prescription - so come payday I'm prepaying my prescriptions for 12 months and will save a fortune.
2 pound for a bleedin butty, if it wasn't for the fact I was starving I'd have tried to do without but I'd have ended up eating my mousemat. But isn't it funny - now I think 2 quid = dinner for a couple of evenings. I was driving along today and saw an advert for a mega meal at KFC and it was 5 quid! And I thought 5 quid, that'd buy a rubber chicken and a load of veg and do me at least 3/4 meals, which I am sure is not what the advertising agency wanted me to think
have a lovely day everyone, it's ruddy freezing here but at least it's not raining xxComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

Afternoon all
Congratulations to Jocket and JackieO (for differing reasons, obviously!)
Really warm clear day here. DH has spent all day digging the foundations for theretaining wall on our terraced seating area. By the time i got back from having my hair cut and coloured he was part way through putting in the cement foundations. I've been and ordered the paving for this area, will wait to order the paving for the other area until this one is done.
Our downstairs loo is blocked, and we've put all sorts of horrible stuff down there to try and clear it. I've given in and phoned A Man...he's coming tomorrow to give us a quote.
Next door has already managed to damage one fence panel of the new fence. I went round there this morning to ask if her ldownstairs oo was also blocked (they end up in the same drain) and she pretended not to be in - probably thought I was coming round to complain about the fence.
JUst swish and swipe for housework today. I'm off out for dinner, DH is having sandwiches. We have lots of HM ready meals available, but he's taken a surprising liking to my seeded bread and wants it for dinner too!
I prefer to let my hair dry naturally, so I won't know what the colour of my hair is until later, when it's dry and combed. I haven't had this colour before, so it'll be interesting.
Right, we're running out of ballast, so I need to go and buy some more to keep DH going.
Have a good afternoon/evening everyone xxx0 -
