Essex girl there are thousands of scouts staying at Hylands Park for the world Jamboree bit too expensive for us £2000 each as you help pay for ones coming from poorer countries and then probably would only have been 1 out of the 3 so we will go to essex jamboree next year
have a good day everyone0 -
Morning everyone & Thanks for your warm welcome.
Fantastic news about the wee one jockettuk I keep thinking about another but am not sure if I could face those first 5 years...now maybe if I could give birth to a 5 yrold now that would be something!!:D
So am up to speed this morning Bread is rising, laundry on line, plants watered, hoovering done, batch of redcurrant & lemon verbena jelly made, cuppa sipped & now off to tackle the front room to deal with the slate floor & dog hair...I want my carpets back darn floods! Then I can have my brekkie mmmm poached egg on fresh bread yum.
Still to do today....stay on track with my calories otherwise this last 1.5st is new going to shift, ironing, start a patchwork throw for the sofa, steal sometime in the studio, power walk 4miles cook soup 4 lunch, dinner pasta 'throw it all in' drink numerous cups of tea & enjoy the day.
Hope you all have a good one. Rachellesimplicity is key0 -
JackieO - that's really great news! Bet you are relieved!
JockettUK - congratulations!
Scubaleopard - what's that song line? yeah - "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave"
Mioliere - I get my DH to take out spiders too.
Jet77 - try https://www.nisbets.co.uk for your springform pans - they are a restaurant supplier and have good quality stuff at trade prices - I buy from there and I'm no longer a chef. Be aware that the price you'll pay is the 2nd one with VAT. Delivery is £3.95 (?) I think for orders under ??
Well............. another 4 weeks off. (11 weeks then!!) Foot is slowly healing, according to the doc. I think I either rebroke it in exactly the same spot, or there was tendon/ligament damage missed and that's why it isn't healing. Also been told to put more weight on it?? Still can't walk properly, so I guess I have to walk more.
The play was OK; the actors didn't gel tho, and the musical bits when they sang were very uneven - several couldn't carry a tune at all, a few sounded like they had classical vocal training.
DH organized the picnic dinner ..... LOL. We had - chevre goats cheese, plain, 4 rolls (no butter) 1 red pepper cut up, 2 tomatoes, some apple mango juice, smoked makerel, sour strawberries and a genoa (fruit) cake (£10!!) from a bakery that was horrible - he's taking that back today. I had splurged and gotten cherries on sale from M+S, they were good.
We've decided he needs training on getting a good picnic together. Others there had all sorts - smoked salmon, homous, bread sticks, cider, wine, beer, crisps, gooey desserts, proper salads, sausage rolls, boiled eggs, pork pie, all sorts of cheeses, roasted chicken....... He did get points for trying though.
Did OK with the x stitch before I went out; will keep going on it today. How do I put a pic of it on here?? I've asked before but no one's answered!
*oinders with all the baby news on here if I should start making baby samplers?*0 -

Jockett you are SO LUCKY i would love another baby,

Have done most of the dailies so far but better check out whats on the cards for flylady today. i'm finding it exhausting doing flylady but the rewards are so worth it.
well we are having chicken in a white sauce tonight with the left overs of last nights roast chicken and the carcass has already been boiled and it awaiting to go into the freezer, as you can see i really am getting into this old style way of living and making the pennies work harder for me instead of me frittering them away like i used to. better update my signature today as its bills day and all my direct debits come off today.
have a fab day everyone

re:You can take the Girl out of Scotland but you cant take the Scotland out of the girl.
-looks as though you'll be taking another girl out of Scotland.
Well, let's say it's an Evens chance. What's your family split so far?
I have a 12 year old daughter and called her HEATHER lol she may have been born in england but was going to have a scottish name.. she wants to help name this one and is compiling a list and oh god help the poor wee mite.. top of the girls list is crystal got 7 months to do a bit of mind bending in the name department ..
Thanks all for your best wishes Shock that was a understatement but these things happen for a reason so im told lol
Im officially 6 weeks gone know its early but will take me till march to get my head round it all lol.. I will be 43 early march as baby due end march, never thought i would hear myself say that.. The only good thing about it all is that i know i dont need to go to mothercare babies r us etc and buy every cute baby related item on the shelfs..as babies dont need most of it, but will be popping into kiddiecare in peterborough this weekend to have a nosey and price up things as will be up there for the weekend,
will keep you all posted on the happenings and the weight loss although my christmas target seems to be going out the window lolThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
Hello again everyone
I promised myself I wouldn't go back on the computer until lunchtime...but I just checked whether my Tightwad Gazette was in at the library yet - AND IT IS!!!! My 'Wally Trolley' (another OS-inspired purchase) arrived yesterday so I'll give it its maiden voyage and check out Lidl on the way home - I've not had a good poke round Lidl yet as it's too far to walk home carrying heavy bags.
I'm going away next week to stay with my best friend for a few days (she only lives 40 mins away but it will be such good fun) and I'm supposed to be making a very strict meal plan for Mr Penguin and the Steppenguins - otherwise the August food budget will be gone by the time I get back
My stepson will eat anything and loves his food (but is getting fat) and my stepdaughter is not only vegetarian but massively fussy and underweight, so doing a menu is a challenge.
My friend is seriously well off and spends (I estimate) around £100-£150 per week on food and drink for herself and her husband. I am not joking. I will offer to pay for and cook a few meals but they will have to be meals of my choice not theirs!! It will be like staying in a 5 star hotel - they are planning to get a hot tub in the grounds of their palace but sadly they didn't take my visit into account and it won't be ready for ages :rotfl:
My No Sugar Campaign is going well - but it's only 9.20am on Day 1 :j
Have a good day and a big penguin hug.

Lovely morning..................sunny but a nice breeze coming in through the window.................see y'all later.................September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.
Tesco £57.13
Petrol £10.000 -
Load is in the washing machine...babe is fed, clean and now asleep for her nap. Next load of washing is sitting there ready...just need to wait for this one to finish and get it out on the line.
House situation is looking up. We think the problem may be solved, but we won't know for sure until we get the final nod from the solicitor. If true it should mean we are in our house in time to have my partner's kids at the end of August. Its only a 2 bed property and they'll have to sleep with trouble in my avatar.....but it will do them so good to spend a decent amount of time with their sister. To be honest they hardly know her and it isn't right.
This afternoon my mum is taking me out to a nearby town. She needs to go anyway so I'm going for a ride and a wander.
Hugs to those that need them and hello to all.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0
