Just like many of the other things which are suggested or talked about on here, nothing has or will be done about it.
Yes its slow as the site record has just been beaten again tonight at 8.20 however its simply not true to say that nothing has been done or will be done about it. The techie boys are continually looking into the problem of over loading, no-one likes to see this happen but the email and It Pays To Watch obviously brings a tremendous amount of traffice to the site.0 -

I have been unable to getinto the site from home but can access at work. Admittedly I was trying yesterday after the email went out but before the programme.
Is it likely to be aproblem with my home system, if yes what can I do about it? All other websites i visit are fine or is it a problem with MSE and I am uinlucky.
Can't manage without MSE,

Maybe it's bad timing having the email (over 1,000,000 now I think) sent out on the same day as Martin's programme generates extra visitors.
But to say that nothing has been done is wrong. We used to lock solid any time we went much over two thousand people on line and that was without the email going out.
So last night - with the email going out and almost 9,000 people on line - I'd say the site did pretty well.
There's always room for improvement, sure, and they're working on it, honest; and I'm sure it will continue to improve.
BTW - comparing MSE to most other sites isn't really fair - this is one of the busiest forum sites on the web (I'm sure the techies post figures somewhere?) - so comparing it to a forum on Norwegian Migrating Hedgehogs, for example, doesn't really workHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I was on last night and yes the site was taking ages to load pages but it's understandable with so many people logging on. Patience is a virtue as the old saying goes£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0

It's all a question of server capacity and money, let's not beat around the bush.0

I am not interested in site records, I want to use a website that simply delivers and MSE isn't doing that at this moment in terms of speed, if I visited the site for the first time last nite after watching Martin's programme and was greeted by a very slow site, I doubt I would revisit it.
If the site cannot cope with demand then don't advertise it, until new servers are put in place to deal with the extra activity.
Sorry, but I do not believe in beating around the bush, as the post said above, its down to money, only moneysaving can be done without too much compromising."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age.
