Slow slow slow website !!

To be honest, whether the site's running fast or slow doesn't bother me too much. Yes, it can be irritating sometimes to click something, and nothing changes on the screen for a minute or so, but what do you expect with the sheer amount of users online at some times?

The way I see it, it can be good that the site's running slow sometimes, it means the site's getting more and more traffic, which can only be a good thing, both on an individual basis for the new users, and also for the wider community on here.

I'm just grateful the site's here in the first place.

Its actually taking me up to 5 minutes (if it doesn't time out) to load a page at the moment, i actually wrote a letter this morning whilst waitinging for the main page to come up.

Hi folks,

We fully aware of the problems and we're working as hard as we can to get some speed back up on the site. Server problems combined with a massive day of traffic are causing huge delays.

This is driving me mad i tell you.So much so i might have to think about only coming on at certain times of the day or stop for a while as it's just so slow loading every page and i mean 2+ mins each and even then some don't load fully and this is on 10meg BB

Its been reaaalllyyy slow all day, but it seems normal for a wednesday, to the point when I lost a post earlier I even commented 'of course its a wednesday'!!!

I know the MSE techies are working hard to get this slowness issue resolved but it strikes me that the site is trying to grow too quickly without the necessary systems in place to deal with all the extra traffic... it is very frustrating... :mad:

On my travels todayI've noticed very very strong complaints on the Amazon website where they are running their Black Friday promotion this week. The complaints amount to items going instantly they are are offered. I had two thoughts; are people sniping these offers, maybe, via the Amazon tool on here. Just guesswork.
