Hello all. Apparently my cryptic clues were a bit too cryptic for Mr Monkey so we didn't get past the first one as he didn't understand that he was supposed to guess.

Anyway, I was far too excited not to tell him so I told him almost as soon as I got home. He told me off for spending too much money on him, but he was really pleased.

I am so tired. Got a training course tomorrow and I have to get up early :(

    Love it :rotfl:

Hope you both have a lovely time :D

Evening all (she says, bearing a remarkable resemblance to a police constable.)
Just nipping in to say hello, long day today getting my head round some new work computery stuff which apparently I have been using incorrectly. And welcome to dragonette.

I like the idea of modest splurges, but my holiday splurges tend to turn out slightly less modest than planned. Must start entering a few more competitions again - that got me to Amsterdam last year.

LSF, was your meh a general rubbish day type thing, or more specific?

I best answer as i don't want my collar felt :p

More like a continuation of rubbish days.

  • Good evening all!

I am so sorry to hear what you have been through, dragonette. Sadly we have simliarities in our past. I know just what you mean about how independence became important to you after your childhood and the subsequent blow of becoming physically unwell. I was the same when I was 21, I had finished therapy, was in the last year of my degree, living alone and working full time. Then a bone began crumbling in my neck and I absolutely hated having to get help again. I found it very, very hard to ask for help back then.

I am with you on the manipulative boyfriends, too. I lived with and dated some not very nice people before I met WaSp, one of whom in hindsight was a very unwell person and a threat to others, but I didn't recognise the problems at the time and walked straight into the relationships blindly.

I don't have answers but I do understand. Have a hug.

Hugs and warm handshakes to all that need them, we all seem to be suffering a bit lately.

Three days to penguins! I don't care if I am under a blanket the whole time, I am determined to go!

How are things this evening? Is the paranoia scooting back where it belongs?

I've now got that annoying song "the final countdown" as an ear worm, for which I hold you completely responsible., btw.

    Evening everyone.
Can I bring cheese and crisps sandwiches in to the fort please, I can almost keep those down now! Will share with anyone that wants them.

Good news... Doctor has signed me off work for a week so I can finally rest.
Told the family yesterday about the imminent arrival. Hubby-to-be's family were lovely and really supportive.
Mine... Can't talk about much on here as I am not very anonymous but so wish I could. Some very triggering things were unintentionally said. Today has been a difficult day processing it.

Not really what I wanted on top of my own paranoia about being able to cope!

WaS I saw a lady wearing penguin wellies today, I did a little grin!
  • Jump into the fort with us katy! I am glad that at least hubby to be's family were supportive to you. I need penguin wellies! I am going to hunt them down now.

The paranoia isn't too bad right now, elsien, thank you so much for asking. It comes and goes. I am rather frustrated with myself because I am sure it was triggered by my teacher friends blog and it is such an overreaction. I have had 16 years of therapy, I am trained in therapeutic techniques, so why can't I get a handle on this? I know exactly what a therapist would tell me so you would think that I could deal with it, but nooooo. I want to be better!

Sorry about the earworm! If it is any consolation I have had the theme from Thunderbirds stuck in my head for several days. I have no idea why...

Glad the paranoia is subsiding at least :)

I'm currently dying my hair, partly because i got bored with pink but partly because i'm seeing it as a bit of a reinvention of myself, a new me, a fresh start. :) (don't worry i'm still me, but will be with turqupise/blue hair lol)

  • Hahahahahah! For some reason that really amused me LSF and I spluttered tea everywhere!

Enjoy the hairdying, MU! I really miss dying mine, I went through so many different colours. Psoriasis on my scalp put a stop to it but I have considered that dipping hair dye thing where you only dye from the bottom to halfway up. The downside would be it would make me stand out more which means I may never remove the blanket when outside again, particularly as I quite fancy scarlet.
