    Hello MessedUp!

How are you feeling now? Did you play the songs? I always find that they cheer me up! Apart from anything else, you can't keep still when they're on!

With regard to the Pepsi Max, does it have any ingredients in it that may be detrimental to mood? I can't remember if it is sugar-based or aspartame-based. Probably both!
I think it's been mentioned before, but can't remember the details.

    Hello Dragonette!

Whitewing, stick at it! It's bound to get easier as you get to know the people better. Do you wear a special jacket, like in Judo? If so, would it help to think that you're not touching the person, you're touching/interacting with the robe? That it's the robe you're attempting to 'overcome', not a person?

WaS, would it help to put a written "this is what to do if" thing together before your visit? WaSp knows the drill, but if he was trying to help you and explain to others it could get a little confused. Whereas if there's an A4 sheet saying, for example, don't call an ambulance unless WaSp agrees it's necessary then everyone knows what to expect.
Kind of like a mini psychotic episode risk assessment along the lines of you're going to be fine, but just in case.

Whitewing, I did something similar to you years back for a few classes, and felt the same about bring paired up with people who knew what they were doing. They really didn't mind though - they looked at it as new people needing to learn safely rather than two newbies making it up as they went along. Never got as far as actually getting anyone to the ground, although by a fluke I did once disarm someone with a pretend knife. Stick with it and your body will remember better what it's meant to be doing.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

After another nap I have discovered that the paranoia is no better, in fact it's possibly worse. I was hoping that a large dose of medication might have fixed it. I shall be over here in a pile of blankets at the back of the duvet fort.

That's not a bad idea, elsien. It is fine if I know that things are beginning not to feel real because then I won't go out but no good if like yesterday things suddenly slip out of focus. The farm is aware that I have mental health problems so something for them to read shouldn't freak them out too much. It would also explain to them why if I need to leave quickly rather than me or Wasp attempting to explain it at the time.

I hope that you are feeling a little better today, MU. You made me think with Pepsi Max. I always crave that or diet coke after I have been drunk. I wonder if there is a connection?

MessedUp, I've just read up on the side effects of aspartame again. It might be worth mentioning this to the doctor when you go.
I must say, it does make for horrendous reading! As there's no sugar in Pepsi Max, the likelihood is there's a lot of aspartame, although I haven't managed to find the exact amount.
I drink some tonic water, though not every week. I drink it as an alcohol substitute, because sparkling drinks make me think I'm drinking champagne lol! :D. I did switch back to the non-diet ones, though, after hearing about aspartame, as I reckoned sugar was far less bad for me than aspartame!
Admittedly, I don't drink it every day or even every week, so it doesn't have a major impact on my calorie intake.

Might be worth reconsidering, though? :A

  • Whitewing - congratulations on persevering with the class. Would it be possible for you to record a class, then transcribe it so you had words on paper to remind you of what to do? There are of course many books on "Teach Yourself Origami" :) or any other oriental martial art.

Generally, people who have experience of a skill are delighted to help someone else learn that skill, you are not holding them back, but giving them the pleasing feeling of helping someone. All practice is good practice, whether your partner is at your level or not. You may react in a slightly different way from someone at the same level, giving them the chance to extend their skills.

WaS, people who deal with animals wear wellies all year round. So do festival goers!

And a welcome to all the new names that are cropping up. It's amazing to see how far the net, no, blanket, has spread!
Deal with things as they are, not as they should be.
  • I am staying in the duvet fort. Forever. *sulk*

    Very dispirited at the moment!

Hugs to all who need them, however!

  • HBS - I know this might not be much help, but your advice and kindness on a thread I posted a few years ago was invaluable and really helped me while dealing with an ex. I always note your name on comments, and have found you to be sensible, caring and lovely.

Things suck atm, but it'll get better chick

WaS - wellies will be fine! Just remember they exaggerate temperature, so earn socks in winter and thin in summer

I'm not sure it affects my mood, I haven't had any in a few days so don't think I can blame my mood on that. I've tried replacing it with things but I hate fizzy water and non fizzy drinks never quench my thirst.

Meh it's one of my few treats these days so I can't say I'm going to give it up.

Hugs to all who needs them right now. Heartbreak star - So sorry to hear you're feeling dispirited. Staying in the duvet fort forever is a comforting option - you must let us know when you require soup, cake and hot drinks.

Today I am mostly feeling....overwhelmingly sad and bewildered. Going to put on some music now, far too loudly, and hope my auditory system can cope. I had a voucher for a free hearing test at Boots but then it expired. I don't know why I said that.

    Have a peaceful afternoon, y'all.
