Talking of baby animals and markets, I always remember going to a farm open day and feeding some tiny lambs. On hearing that they'd end up as lamb chops, our initial,"oh no", turned to acceptance when the farmer's wife told us not to worry, as they don't go until they're several months old, by which time that are hulking great thugs! Still 'lambs', technically, but like unruly, belligerent teenagers. I quite happily ate my lamb chops after that!
The good thing about lamb is that it's a true free range meat.
    !

My favourite meal ever is Cumberland tattie pot. We used to go to a place in Loweswater that does the best tattie pot ever....and then drive past the little lambs in the fields on the way home feeling a teeny bit guilty! Not enough to stop us eating it though! :p

Cows, sheep, pigs were bred to be eaten. If everyone stopped eating meat then the breds would disappear as no one would want them as pets and we could not have them free roaming.

Do what they did in goodness gracious me and have a cow flap and wonder why they get burgled :rotfl:see here

You have to wind the window down and shout mint sauce as you past the field :rotfl:

Nope, Don't know sorry? Feel like I should know, like it's almost a qualification to be a proper Cumbrian! :rotfl:

Eta: Just say your post above! Should have guessed it's as something to do with mint sauce! My Granda had a mint patch in his garden, and my Nan made mint sauce!

    Oooh! Evil Calley! :rotfl:
Actually, I prefer horseradish sauce to mint sauce! I know that sounds weird, but I have been known to eat horseradish sauce straight out of the jar with a spoon! I can eat it with anything.
