I used to commute into Cambridge, and always enjoyed the graffiti corrections to posters, often with detailed annotations as to why they were wrong. There was a lengthy debate on one poster offering "Free cycle hire", both as to the possibility of it being hire if it was free, and the meaning of cycle as opposed to bicycle.
I've always though nit-picking was genetic. I once asked my brother if he could give me a really accurate definition of the word pedantic, and he was several word into his reply before he twigged.
I wash my hands of typing errors though. I never learned to type, so I err in at least 40% of the words. I correct what I see, and blame my inadequate glasses for the rest. Since I ran away from my last sight test, I'm not inclined to repeat that0 -

Serious question, but is that because you have a fear of opticians/getting your eyes tested, or for some other reason? Obviously you don't have to say what that reason was, am just curious as I do have a phobia of getting my eyes tested.
I really need to go and get them tested. The nice calming optician has now retired though.0 -

When I made the appointment I stressed I needed to see a woman. I was given a female optician, but a male to do the fitting afterwards. I'd already had a long wait in a very busy, crowded area and was struggling. He said "I'll just fill in this form and then I'll check the fitting of the frames" I said "You won't be able to do that" He didn't reply, and I picked up my bag and ran - literally - from the shop and that street. I left my own glasses behind.

I've never been officially diagnosed with OCD, but there are quite a few things pointing towards me having it.
Re other people's post, my biggest bugbears are the wrong use of there/their, and using your/you're in the wrong context. I always want to point it out, but that would make me part of the grammer police (WPC Georgie!) so I refrain from doing so!The one that really gets me raging is 'are' instead of 'our'. Hurray! I'm not the only one!
I particularly hate 'should of' instead of 'should've' or 'should have'.
Why oh why does the autocorrect always change ill to I'll? It drives me nuts!(I just lurve spiders!)

Why on earth do we watch such horrible stuff for fun? Its quite worrying really!
The difference between real life and TV/film seem to work in the opposite direction for me. I can deal with quite a bit of gore in reality, if it is necessary, but on screen it is way beyond me. Even nature programmes can be very disturbing, but I can cope with the cat's victims when he brings them home.0 -
Morning everyone
Not a good night. My own fault for having a nap last night for an hour and a bit. Was awake until about 3pm LOL!!!!
I have come to a conclusion that I don't like other peoples noise. My neighbours just make normal day to day noises. But they seem to wind me up. And worse in the summer with the bedroom window open. Like when one person gets out a car but seems to open and shut numerous car doors. Thought at most there were 6 items on a car that can be opened and banged shut.
I did have a knock on the door yesterday and did not answer it. No idea who it was and not that concerned strange I know when I can worry about anything.
My house is quiet most of the time. No TV and listen to radio or netflix on. Was more relaxed with my head phones on yesterday.
So my way forward is head phones.
And had a text from ex last night. After saying to leave him alone for 6 months to get better. texted me about something I was told he was no longer interested in buying from a family member of mine. Told me only 6-7 weeks ago to tell that person they no longer wanted itLucky I did not say anything then.
Yours

I don't mind a bit of gore. Sometimes I even watch the boil squeezing videos on youtube.
Morning Team WaS. DA dog is feeling poorly today so I feel very bad for leaving him. I need a nap.

There's a woman in my office who is doing my head in with her moaning. She's been doing it loudly since I got into the office this morning and she gets in earlier than me so probably for another hour and a bit before that. We've moved our desks around a bit and this is wrong and that is wrong and this cable isn't the right length and her negativity is infectious so everyone is now being very quiet and subdued.
I know - I'm moaning about somebody moaning. :rotfl:Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
