Pyxis, interesting how our experiences are so different!

Given that computing is my work and I'm a complete nerd, I never ask for advice on any technology product purchase, and I've heard terrible advice about computer things dished out in shops - I can remember cringing in PC World listening to an assistant talking about networks and clearly making it up as he went along to fill in the gaping holes in his knowledge, I wanted to step over and say "Actually, if you knew anything about TCP/IP ..." (but didn't, as that would have meant drawing attention to myself and talking to people  - I was only there to pick up some bits I needed in a hurry and couldn't wait for mail order )

I'll have to ask you in future, then! :rotfl:

    Evening everyone!

I had a postal vote this year, this is the first year I have ever voted. The reason for this is I only braved the electoral register 3 years ago! My paranoia stopped me ever joining it for years, it is irrational but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

The voices are particularly bad today, probably because I was thinking about ways to get rid of them. Poor Wasp is getting rather frustrated because he is having to repeat everything 3 times and I am not making sense when I do talk. Imagine trying to hold a conversation while someone talks close to your ear about a totally different subject all of the way through it, it is very hard to concentrate and hear what the real person is saying. I tend to get what the voice is saying mixed up with what WaSp is saying and then I just get confused (and so does WaSp). Writing is so much easier for me at these times. It isn't really upsetting me because I am used to it but it is very frustrating, any communication apart from writing is almost impossible and I can't concentrate on real conversation at all.

Have just had to spell things out to FOH. Have been trying to get him to sort furniture and joint account but he refuses to have a conversation. Told him he had to get out of denial and get his act together, that we're not together anymore.

He asked if I didn't want to try to sort things, as he's made a massive mistake!:mad:

Told him that six months ago that was all I wanted to hear, that I've spent two years waiting for him to come to his senses. But it's too late. Said that he's spent two years pushing me away and it's worked, that I just can't forgive him for going on holiday while I lost our baby, that I've had enough of being ignored in my own home and I'm looking forward to starting again - and he needs to accept that and leave.

Told him it was like a switch - after spending years trying to make him notice me, thinking if I just tried harder he'd want to spend time with me, I had a lightbulb moment and realised it isn't me with the problem, it's him. I'm not perfect and obviously I've done things wrong, but I've always tried to put him first, I've always been willing to work on things. But it was always thrown back in my face. He always had so many more important things to spend his time and attention on.

I did say that I wasn't trying to be mean, I wasn't trying to hurt him. But I can't live like that anymore.

He didn't say anything, just went out. No idea if he's planning on coming back this evening or not.

I'm just off out so will see when I get back in a couple of hours.

Sorry for the huge post. Just needed somewhere to share.

Hugs tea. That was so brave! It sounds like he was putting stuff off hoping you'd change your mind and waiting for you to come back and you deserve so much better.

I used to work for the opposition! Some sales people did that, but only the ones who didn't properly understand about which cable would be best for which customer and so sold the most expensive because it had the most commission on it!

Luckily, apart from the training we got, I was pretty clued up on technical stuff/pcs because of DH!

    Good people of this thread,

I hope you don't mind me asking for your thoughts/advice. I have a cousin who is crippled with depression/indecision. He is trying to sort out some considerable financial mess he's in and from time to time I have a chat with him or meet up to see if I can help or to let him sound off.
His daughter is mentally ill and won't see anyone so he has the added pressure of that. His worry is that if he contacts his creditors to get a final settlement figure for his outstanding debts they could dig into his personal situation to the point his house could be repossessed to clear what he owes, although he has enough to clear his debts. His situation is very complicated and there is a lot more to it than I've mentioned here but he just seems to talk himself round in circles without tackling anything.
He now worries what will happen to his daughter if he dies. It's really sad and I really want to help him as I know he is a very good and decent man. Much as I want to help him it can be very frustrating and it brings me down too. He is very intelligent and very good at going off topic so often we end up way off the subject of tackling his debts/paperwork etc.
Any thoughts as to what I can do other than say I am here if he needs anything? I'm the only family member he feels able to confide in.
Thanks in advance for reading. Just needed to get some of my jumbled thoughts out of my head.
