  • Anyone who can bake a decent cake, I have major envy.

As do I. Cooking I can do and enjoy but baking cakes is akin to witchcraft. The last time I tried to make a sponge, it shrank and came out like a brick :o

I don't even try. I can cook decent meals without using a recipe, I cant do cakes, I made cupcakes from a packet mix once and even messed that up.

My brother posted a chocolate cake to his facebook a couple of years ago that he baked, I had major envy then too. I think my big problem is that Im terrified to try, because I have some friends who are fantastic bakers and they are forever posting on their facebook their creations and its always like, look at this little chocolate and lime pie I just happened to whip up this afternoon.

I tried telling one of them how I felt about baking and she was like, its easy, but its not easy to me.

I dont have a major sweet tooth anyway, so no biggie, but I would like to be able to bake a very simple cake and not goof it up.

On the subject of tidying, I was so mortified by the workmen storing stuff in my tip of a bedroom that I not only tidied up but threw out all the clothes that don't fit or aren't fit to be worn. I filled a bag of clothes for the charity shop (loads still have their labels on) and 3 bags of rubbish for the tip. I did cheat and kept a bag of stuff in smaller sizes, like some pretty dresses. One day, I will be in remission and will get back to my size 12s!

My room hasn't been so tidy in ages. Just DH's stuff that's a mess.

Also, I have an appointment for an MRI. I'm scared because I am rubbish at keeping still.

I need to sort clothes again. I did have a good sort out about a year ago and got rid of loads but there's still too much there. I probably wear 20% of what I own - and that's all a bit old and scruffy looking now. What I really need is some decent work stuff.

Me too tea. Because I'm IT work generally involves jeans and a top and I have dog walking clothes. If I ever get an interview, I'll have to buy new clothes for it.

  • Well, I've made a start, 2 items listed so far! I've had a bite to eat in between, so I'm not being extremely slow! :rotfl:

I put everything on BIN as I find things seem to sell better that way. Anything that doesn't sell, I'm taking to the charity shop. I'm gonna be ruthless because let's face it, a lot of them are never worn and or don't fit me anymore!

Question for you folks. Has anyone heard of social autism? It's a new one on me, people are querying whether such a thing exists, but it's down on record as a diagnosis. I did wonder if they meant social anxiety, and someone had written it down wrong. Any thoughts?

Not heard of that one. What exactly is it? Autism doesn't just affect me socially, for example. (I know that my father suspected something because of a bizarre and quite frankly socially unacceptable obsession I have...)

Social anxiety would make more sense.

Hmmm, I can't really see how autism can be anything other than something that affects you socially????? Maybe it's autism that only manifests in social situations?????
