I gave away 3 pairs of heels the other day. Not my purple ones. I can't walk in heels since breaking my arm. This is progress for me as I'm one of these people who go oooh pretty things, do I use them? No, why am I keeping them then?
I actually found a huge bag of clothes that someone left in the communal bin sheds. Washed, designer. I waited a few days to see if anyone was going to come back for it then gave it to charity.

It looks like the
"Three eggs
and their weight
in flour, butter and sugar" chant cake, so its probably 175g too0 -
The stuff under the bed will be my problem too - at the moment we have two double beds (one in each room) but obviously one will be leaving soon.... where do I hide all the clutter that's under there??
Think I'm massively in denial about him actually leaving. We were sorting some solicitor paperwork last night and he was really annoying me as he just wouldn't read the letter properly. He's going away cycling today and hugged me this morning and was generally chatty and pleasant. He just doesn't seem to get that it's a bit too little too late now! He should have been doing these basic things (like, actually acknowledging my presence, speaking to me, etc) all along... not just when he realises I'm serious about him going.
My boss is here today (well, should be arriving any minute) and I have to tell her I'm leaving. Wish me luck! Still trying to tell myself that the hours at the new job won't be as bad as I'm anticipating.
Will just keep my focus on Christmas lol. My aim for this year is to get to Christmas having made some of the changes that were long overdue. It's all so scary but by then I should hopefully be over the worst - will have been in new job for 7 months, and had maybe 6 months or so of life without FOH.0 -
Yes. I love lush. I've a 30 quid gift voucher that I need to get spending.
I also love superdrug. All their own brand products are cruelty free and their make up is v cheap. Hair colours are cheap and cruelty free as well0 -
Allergic to Lush stuff. I only have to walk past the door and I start sneezing.
I have just started baking again after years of not bothering due to my Sunday antisocial dog walking group. (That's the dogs, not the group btw.) We take it in turns to take cake along, pay a donation for tea and cake and the money goes to local rescues. Living on my own it didn't seem worth making cakes, but I'm quite enjoying it when it's my turn. And so far, to my great surprise, they've all been edible. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I've tried some lovely superdrug hair colour too. Mine desperately needs doing again so might get some from there. They do have nice things, I had some lovely shower gel and body lotion before - thanks for the reminder
I very rarely go into town (the town I live is is just rubbish) so tend to just get everything from supermarkets. Think I need to make time for a trip to town instead.

.
Chuck a blanket over it and call it modern art!
Good luck with telling your boss about your new job, hope it goes well.0 -
I've had to share a house with a soon-to-be ex too. It's the most unnatural and confusing situation. All those years when he was the person you wanted to discuss the difficult things with, and now he is the difficult thing, and making him go is the most difficult thing.
I found loading the van when he finally went was liberating, but he weeks afterwards were full of wildly fluctuating feelings. Havn along term goal to work towards sounds a good idea.0 -
Tea, once you've made the job jump it won't feel so scary. I have to be honest, I found the change to 9 to 5 difficult at first, but if you still get up at the same time and do the boring jobs before you go out, the evenings will be more your own.
Plus once you've taken the step it feels less scary if for any reason you have to do it again. When I lost my job and years of job security and long service benefits, it felt quite liberating once I got over the shock. I can now tell myself that I've got nothing to lose any more so if it doesn't work out for whatever reason, or I just fancy a change, it's easier to move on.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I love baking. Have got out of the habit a bit since working on my own. I sometimes make things when I go round to my sister's house but we're both supposed to be losing weight (she is doing a LOT better than me!)
One of the things I'm looking forward to is being back in an office with other people. I miss silly things like a comic relief cake sale, christmas jumper day, just having a chat while you make the tea. Although I will have to stop singing to myself!0
