    I love

  • That's very true, Pyxis. A temporary doctor prescribed a decongestant for me and I only found out by reading the information leaflet with it that it was contraindicated to one of my medications. Whenever I am prescribed any new medication I always search as much information I can find about it before I take it.

Hahahahaha! I know I shouldn't laugh elsien but I do love Gitdog. Would giving him his own plastic bottle before leaving the house work?

So far things aren't too bad. I haven't slept because my muscles are twitching constantly and I am walking with a hunched back due to pain but it could be worse. I have also discovered that my cough is much worse than I thought, codeine is a cough suppressant, too. I am hacking all over the place. With any luck I will pass out soon and wake up to my medication ready. Cross everything please!

Code, sorry to hear you're in pain :( Hope you managed to get through to the doctors and get an appointment. Ours is the same if you phone at 8am.

Sounds like a lovely walk elsien! Your dog has excellent recycling skills by the sounds of it!

Pyxis, I could literally watch that video all day! That dog has excellent posture! :rotfl:

WaS, hope you haven't had a bad night. Eta: crossed posted. Glad things aren't too bad. Hope you get your medication soon x

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

I have an appointment. I'm a bit anxious about it. I have printed a copy of my exercise schedule so they can see I'm not lazing about stuffing Mcdonalds in my face and lying about it (actually, something in Mcdonalds disagrees with me so I'd probably get thinner eating those as they shoot out of me).

No idea. Will probably end up on a higher dose of the fat making medication and have to be crane lifted from my bedroom.

I once saw a documentary about these superobese people and one of them really needed help, but not just for him, for his parents too. This was a teenage boy (maybe 19) who had been hospitalised several times and was told he'd die if he didn't do some exercise. This guy was so big that exercise consisted of walking down the hall. But he just wanted to play computer games and refused to even pause long enough to use the bathroom, so he just went in his chair. He admitted he was capable of going to the bathroom, he just couldn't be bothered. His mother would bring him unhealthy snacks and food all day long and clean up his poo. As if this wasn't bad enough, there was a storm (this was in the USA so a tornado or hurricaine). The boy didn't want to leave his computer games so refused to evacuate and the family stayed with him. The power went out and they had a backup generator which was enough run the fridge and lights, only this boy demanded that the power be for his computer games and the parents gave in. It was clear the mother enjoyed 'looking after him' to the point where she was risking his life and the dad said he knew there was a problem but wouldn't or couldn't stand up to them. It was terribly sad because you know that boy was in serious trouble and needed strict boundaries to save his life but the mother's untreated mental illness was getting in the way. At no point were the family offered support.

    I love gidog's adventures.

Today I was out with dumbass dog and we met anither dog who lives nearby. He's an adorable big bundle of fluff who looks like a teddy bear. He's partial to biscuits. I give him biscuits. I'm a soft touch with biscuits and the local dogs know it. Anyway we were about 20 metres away and this dog spotted us and he dug his heels in and refused to move until he'd sniffed dumbass dog and got a treat. He's so very cute and snuggly - WaS you'd love him.

A cute dog who looks like a teddy bear and loves biscuits.... he sounds amazing!

I've got my first Brownie meeting this evening (first since I was in Brownies, and that was some time ago!) Am so nervous! Maybe I've been overdoing the 'one thing everyday that scares me' approach??

Hearing about everyone's dogs makes me want one! I've always liked boxer dogs, but don't think I could handle the drool!

Code, that is a quite disturbing story about that boy, also very sad too though. :(

tea, good luck at the Brownie meeting tonight, I'm sure it'll be fine and you'll have fun! I remember the brown dress uniform and wooly hats! I think it's totally changed now though and went all modern hasn't it?

Hmmm. Does anyone need me to penguin the documentary story?

Good luck at Brownies tea, I'm sure you'll have loads of fun.

  • You will be fine code! I will be thinking of you! And what a sad story about the young man, as you say his mother's mental health impacted his own personality. Terribly sad.

    Both doggies sound adorable!

You will also be fine, tea! I bet you have fun!
