I must admit that the idea of swapping 'a fitness lesson for a bed' did sound a bit ooo-er missus! :rotfl: Not surprised the swear filter kicked in!!!!! :D

I must have bleached my mind because the oo er missus didn't even cross my mind. Most unlike me.

I'll have a look at that ta.

I've been to Dublin. Good 15 years ago now.

I'd love to go to Iceland, too skint but one day.

    More of Scotland as well.

I've been using a lovely skin cream (for my hands) containing active Manuka (18+) and propolis. It's 'Skin Health' by Madeleine Ritchie and is from New Zealand.

My hands and nails get very dry and I use this at night.

I use manuka as a face mask and have done for years. I have fussy skin, I figure its cheaper than trying a hundred creams that don't work, its survived all through the rosacea fuss that stopped me using other things.......mild, natural or fussy and scientific. :)

Ha ha ha! I have been wondering for ages at the back of my mind why LiR's signature made me think of Thailand every time I saw it. All this talk of holidaying alone has suddenly made me realise!

I've been on several holidays alone, before I was married. (And TBH I am quite likely to go again, as Mr JM hates travelling and can't do much when we get there, so encourages me to go off occasionally.)

The very first one was an adventure holiday to Thailand. I was a bit anxious - I was in my 40's and was worried that all the other travellers would be much younger and fitter. The joining instructions stressed that you had to be quite fit to do the hill tribes!

Anyway, I went and yes, it was quite demanding. It was v stimulating but not really my sort of thing as too much of your time was organised - I like exploring and serendipity!

Anyway, on one of our free days I saw a sign saying something about ordination and a speech by a local politician. I decided to go, and not one other person in the group wanted to come with me. So I went alone. In some trepidation - I got into a taxi and the driver immediately said 'I show you nice jewellery factory, yes?'. I had to be quite stroppy to get him to take me to where I wanted to go, and it occurred to me that he could simply abduct me and no-one would ever see me again....

When I got there, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!!!! Apparently it is traditional to have an annual day where all the young boys (about 7 or 8 years old) who are going to become monks dress up in dress of yore, and process in on elephants if they can afford it (I think there was ONE). It was a complete visual feast, I was about the only Westerner there, and the local people were so kind, forcing me to the front so I could see.

It was EXTREMELY satisfying when I got the photos back and the rest of the group got an idea of what they had missed by not wanting to do anything not organised by the (not very knowledgeable) tour guide.

    So...........

Yes, but I got to see the monks!
