An hour after that an electrician will be coming in to check sockets so all furniture has to be moved away from them. Shall I just leave the front door open so that anyone can come in at any time? Seriously, this is really wearing me down. I can't handle people in my home (I can't handle people!) at the best of times, this has gone on for over a month. If it doesn't stop soon this is going to make me very ill.
Wasp is annoyed and grumpy, I have reached an almost incapable of doing anything mode and I want to hide all of the time and sit under blankets. Both of us are really sick of constantly having to wait for people and alter our flat for them. Apparently we aren't the only ones, the landlord apologised that sometimes people haven't turned up when they should because people have informed her that they keep having to take time off work. This must be a nightmare for anyone employed. I see my psychiatrist and endocrinologist tomorrow, at least the visitors don't clash with that, I would have been very unhappy if they did!
On a positive side if this had been happening even a year ago I would have been far more unwell by now. If it had happened 10 years ago I would be in hospital. I am holding it together but it is getting harder and harder to do so. Even Wasp is worn down by it. Every week is more disturbance.
Hugs to all the poorlies, I hope Gitdog had fun and I want a huge raven!
Youngest struggles with people coming into the home and if I am really really honest, so do I. It feels such an invasion and really puts both youngest and myself out of sorts and feeling pressured.
Unfortunately, to others it can seem as if you have something to hide rather than the fact you feel scared/pressured/unsettling and no matter how hard you try to explain, it just doesn't seem to get through.
We went through months last year of visits to fix things/check things and I spent months feeling invaded and that I couldn't relax in my own home, as for youngest, he was so unsettled, he failed to get a C in his maths GCSE (he was in a right state as someone had been in the house 2 days before) and didn't do as well as expected in others. So for him, the after effects has meant he has had to redo year 11.
Sorry if my writing appears a little disjointed today, brain not quite working as it should. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Totally agree peeps - I hate anyone coming in my house (as evidenced by Monday's freaking out about one small social call). If I had my way, no one would ever get in there lol.
After months of behaving himself, Percy cat has decided to pee on the floor again. FOH's trainers have not survived the night!0 -

At least it was FOH's trainers and not yours, tea

I heard about another lovely website today, via Facebook. http://onemillionlovelyletters.com/
Apparently 'the woman who started this has encepthalitis. Instead of feeling pity for herself, she started to do something more worthwhile. She began sending letters to people that she has never known but suffer from all sorts of problems and illnesses. She created a website named One Million Lovely Letters asking people to get in touch with her for a comforting letter.'
What a wonderful thought!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
This is a slightly random post, but I know melly (and possibly others) have just the knowledge I'm after... can I please pick brains?!
When I was at college it was drummed into us that a manager can delegate tasks etc, and can appoint competent persons to assist with H&S, but they cannot delegate overall responsibility. Basically, the buck always stops with the person at the top (which is why they are the one to sign policies).
Am currently arguing with a commitee who don't seem to think this is the case and I'm now wondering if I've got the whole thing wrong for years!
I know this is quite specific and not all related to the thread but would really appreciate any help. Frantic googling is just confusing the issue further.0
